Apartment Old School (1743)

The apartment in the old school from 1746 was renovated and refurnished in 2019. Apartment and furnishing are made of natural raw materials. The adjoining terrace is surrounded by plant and flower beds. The building is located in the middle of the historic old town. Five restaurants are in the vicinity of 150 meters. Dream trails for hiking, the Moselle and the Volcanic Eifel are in the immediate vicinity. Eltz Castle is 3.1 miles away. Within a radius of 10 km are another six castles. The floor in the apartment is equipped with underfloor heating and covered with natural basalt from the region. The old 80 cm thick quarry walls are plastered with natural lime plaster and painted with lime paint. Almost all the furniture was made of old oak and solid steel. On the terrace surrounded by flowers and plants is a large table with four seats and two more seating areas. The apartment is located on the ground floor of the building and is accessible via a separate apartment entrance door through the stairwell. From the living room, three doors lead to the terrace with seating and table. The family who rented the apartment lives in the same building and is regularly responsive and is happy to assist with tips on sights and walks in the area. Eltz Castle, a historic old town, the Moselle Valley, vineyards, an outdoor swimming pool, many restaurants nearby and numerous hiking dream trails offer everything you need to spend your holidays and relaxation. Over large plains with fields, valleys and gorges with streams and forests and many historical places as medieval and Roman times, around Münstermaifeld is a hiking paradise. With 30 minutes drive to Koblenz, Maria Laach Monastery or Cochem, there is much to see. Racing enthusiasts have only 60 km to the legendary Nürburgring. The building is located in the middle of the old town on a little-used road. The imposing collegiate church from the 12th century is located at a distance of 50 metres on the central Münsterplatz. In this place there is a coffee and a steakhouse with pizzeria. Other restaurants can be found within 100 metres. Also on the square is the Old Propstei with tourist information and various museums. The outdoor swimming pool is about 300 meters from the apartment Alte Schule. The Moselle Valley with its beautiful vineyards and numerous ostrich farms is 5 km from the Old School apartment. Around Münstermaifeld stretches a large plain with colorful fields and flowering meadows. The numerous paths invite you to go hiking. The Elz Valley with the stream of the same name and Romanesque castles can be reached on foot or by car in 5 km. There are idyllic mills with restaurants. The town of Koblenz can be reached in 25 minutes by car. There are many opportunities for shopping and numerous sights such as the Deutsch Eck or the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. The confluence of the Rhine and Moselle makes Koblenz a very special city. The Bundesgartenschau, which took place a few years ago in Koblenz, has created many green spaces and squares. This also makes Koblenz a very special city. In 20 minutes by car you are at the monastery Maria Laach. It is located on a beautiful lake surrounded by forest. The monastery nursery, the bookshop and some smaller shops invite you to stroll. The hike around the lake takes about an hour. In the same direction lies the Eifel town of Mayen. With a magnificent market square and a castle with city walls, Mayen is worth a visit. On some days in the morning there is a market where you can buy fresh fruit, vegetables and local food. Racing fans can park in 1 hour by car at the legendary Nürburgring.
