My place is an ideal getaway location, nestled in the foothills of Shirota forests, the last of the mighty hills of the Sahyadri ranges, before it slopes away into the plains beyond Khopoli and onwards towards Mumbai. It is close to the nature, open space, fresh air. You’ll love my place because of the location, the ambiance, and the outdoors space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids). The property is situated on an all weather road that leads to the Jambavali village from Kamshet village, off the Old Mumbai Pune highway. The retreat is a facility for the restless and the young at heart to blend with nature, listen to the sounds of the forest, live the nomad’s life, shoot some DSLR preys – before getting back to one’s own steel and glass world. Mesmerising misty hills, private waterfalls, possibility of treks in the hills instead of the boring treadmill, have different birds each day as your morning alarm, catch the sun rise from your bed in the tent, savor the beauty of the sun set lying on a hammock, lie on your back by the campfire waiting to catch the occasional shooting star across a crystal clear sky - a typical wish list of anyone who is on the lookout for his well earned weekend getaway. In addition, if you have a kitchen with staff who remembers the way you like your egg served on a Sunday morning, sets up your barbeque outside your tent complete with the marinated goodies, wouldn’t you be tempted to change your FB status to “Life is Good”? The guests have access to the entire space including the cosy tent which is used only for a nights' sleep, a common dining area with an open kitchen where one can see their meals being cooked. The entire space in the arms of nature is for one to explore. There is an arrangement for barbeque and music for those typical camp nights. Wash rooms are available in the main building, a short walk from the camp site. The caretaker at the property would assist you at the stay. I would be available via call/text. Mostly I myself will be present at the site. The space is blessed with nature. Beautiful tranquil lakes, hazy mountains, dense forests and waterfalls is what it offers. It is located in village Thoran, near the hill-stations of Govitri and Uksan. Situated on the Mandand hill, it is surrounded by the Vadivale, Uksan, Valwan, Shiravta and Thokalwadi dams. Also in close vicinity is the Kundali lake. One can choose to explore the nearby attractions -Dhak Bahiri Caves -Karla Caves -Bedsa Caves -Rajmachi Fort -Kondeshwar Temple -Enercon Wind Farm -Various Paragliding Points Getting a private vehicle works best in a place which is completely raw. Else, one can opt for getting a hired cab to drop you at the place. -The kitchen does not follow a conformist pattern; you can be assured of an eclectic choice in the limited a la carte menu available at site. The choice will be limited by what is available at site. In case of any special requirements, please ensure that we are forewarned adequately, since the closest convenient store is a good 15 kms from here. -Food ordered from the ‘a la carte’ menu do not form part of the package and will have to be paid in cash at the time of check out. Connectivity could be a problem and hence we can’t assure card swipe facility. -What to carry with you a.While we strive to have insect repellents on hand, in case you have preference for any brand or application, please carry your preferred lotions / balms / sunscreens with you. b.All specific medications that you may require. We maintain a first aid kit for normal minor cuts / pains / sprains / discomforts etc. -Guests have to submit valid government ID’s at the time of checking in. Expats / NRI’s have to give passport and visa details in advance, at the time of booking.
