This house has a modern-holiday feel and gorgeous location and deck looking into the trees. Great for families or groups of couples. It is a 4min walk from South Broulee Beach (whales, snorkelling, surfing, swimming and fishing). Wifi, table tennis, foosball table, BBQ, books, games... SORRY NO SCHOOLIES. The house has a spacious living area, which includes a dining and living area and a large upstairs deck with dining table, outdoor furniture and bbq, that looks onto trees. Upstairs are two bedrooms (one with a queen bed and another with a single and bunk with a double and single bed) and a bathroom. Downstairs has two bedrooms (one queen bed with private deck) and a second with two single beds. It also has a bathroom and laundry (with washing machine). The house has two bathrooms with instant hot water and an outdoor hot water shower. Amenities Cooling is provided by ceiling fans and two electric fans. Heating is by wood fire (and electric heater downstairs). Linen (sheets and pillow cases) are available for $20 per bed extra. Note: pillows and quilts are included in the general cost. Extra beds The brown sofa in the main living room is also a fold out sofa bed. There is a trundle bed under the Queen bed in bedroom 1. There are quilts, blankets and extra pillows in the cupboard in the main bedroom. For infants and toddlers It is your responsibility to block off the stairway. A high chair can be provided. In our shed: A table tennis table with all the gear (easy to wheel out into the carport). Water pistols, boogie boards, sand play toys, life jackets, Frisbees, water pistols, a kite and whatever anyone else leaves behind. Please hose off salty water after use. Our guests have done really well in this regard so most of the equipment is still in good shape. Electronics We have a TV, DVD player and Wii console available. DVDs are available at the local Broulee shop and the Moruya IGA. Wifi You are welcome to use the wifi but (as with setting up the electronics above), it should work perfectly but regretfully if it does not we cannot offer support. FOOD You will find some food in the kitchen, tea, coffee, sugar and cooking oil. If you finish these items, please replace. Coffee Machine; The coffee machine uses capsules from Aldi. We will leave some in the cupboard but if you want to use them, please replace the ones you use. The Oven: The oven works perfectly will not start if the time is not set correctly. Barbeque We will endeavour to keep the gas bottles for the BBQ available for you but please replace any gas bottles you finish through the “swap n go” service. If you leave both empty the next guest will have no gas for their first barbeque. You can swap these at Moruya Hardware store or Tomakin Auto Centre. Games and books: There is a selection of games and books in the main living room, including a foosball table. You are welcome to take books but we do ask if you do that you leave something similar behind. Table tennis: Downstairs in the shed is a table tennis table. You are welcome to leave it out in car port during your stay but please put it away in bad weather and when you leave. Guests have access to the whole house and shed. There are a few locked cupboards for owners' use. We are available to help via phone or email during your stay. The house is in a tree-filled location that attracts birds including kookaburras, rosellas, king parrots, and black cockatoos. Just a short walk to a beautiful beach and an "island" isthmus. The Island takes 45 mins to navigate and takes you through a variety of rock formations, pebbly beaches and sandy beach. There is a small shop, chemist and take-away within walking distance, along with a summer only cafe at the Surf Lifesaving Club on the beach. The wonderful Mossy Point Cafe, is a 45 min walk or 5 min drive away. A short drive to Tomakin provides a larger takeaway, restaurant and IGA. Lovely historic Moruya is 10 mins drive and has all amenities, shops etc Local shops •Broulee (Grant Street): There is a bottle shop and very small convenience store on Grant Street (about 1 km walk) •The closest store for groceries is Tomakin IGA, 2158 George Bass Drive (3.8 km away) •Woolworths and another IGA can be found in Moruya. If you are a foodie make sure you stop by the IGA. The food is very high quality and there is a good range. •Bateman’s Bay is a larger centre and has many shops. If you are a scuba diver the coast here is a great place to explore and there is a dive shop in Batemans bay with all of the gear. Places to eat out •Mossy Point café: a great place for breakfast and lunch. All seating is outdoors so only venture there in good weather. They also have a lovely art gallery and shop attached. •Broulee surf club kiosk at South Broulee beach is good value for breakfast and lunch •Tomakin RSL provides good pub food •Smokey Dan's for takeaway and restaurant on the way to Tomakin (2152 George Bass Drive) •There are a number of restaurants and pubs in Moruya. We recommend The River for a nice night out or the Moruya Hotel Motel restaurant for a relaxing meal by the river. There is also an Indian and Italian restaurant in the town. •Mogo and Moruya have a lot of small restaurants for breakfast and lunch. Brochures in the top drawer of the kitchen island Fishing: There is a sad looking fishing box in case of emergencies in the shed. Please note you need a license to fish in NSW. You can get a license online at (URL HIDDEN) It costs $7 for 3 days or $14 for a month. As long as you have a receipt (e.g. on your phone), you will not be fined. Moruya has a good fishing store if you need bait and more supplies. Beaches One of the great things about Broulee is it has three beautiful beaches and if the wind, surf, or lack of it, is not to your taste at one beach, the next one provides another option. Broulee South: This is the closest beach from Clarke St and has an active surf life saving presence and great for boogie boarding. You can also snorkel off the volcanic rocks to the north of the beach. Kids can also hunt for crabs and creatures in these rocks. If you are here from Sept-Nov, you may see whales close-up frolicking off these rocks. There is also a small kiosk take-away open here under the surf club building and public toilets. Shark Bay: If you head south from Broulee South beach, you will find Shark Bay – a lovely sheltered beach which is usually calm and safe for kids. We understand the “Shark” in Shark bay is a Wobbegong. You can start your walk around Broulee Island from here. Broulee North: This is another lovely beach and the local surf schools tend to teach on here. If you continue north you will find Candlagan Creek which is a great place for small children to swim. Walks Our favourite walk is the 4km Broulee Island walk. The walk features ocean vistas, rock pools, native plants including coastal banksias, casuarinas, coastal wattles, westringias, red olive plum and lilli pilli and marine birds. You can also walk along the Mossy Point cliff tops, past the boat ramp and along the Tomago River. Tomago River In Mossy Point, there is a boat ramp (look out for stingrays off the pier especially at the end of the day when the fishing boats come in). There is also a kayak hire place near the boat ramp and the lovely Mossy Point Café. Brochures for nearby places in the bookcase SHOPPING For homewares, crafts, clothing, and jewellery try Mogo main street . There is no real public transport. There is a bus to Canberra that leaves from the shopping area. There is an airport at Moruya CHECK-IN Check-in is at 2pm and check out at 10am. However, we are happy to be flexible with times if there is no guests to prepare for the next/same day booking
