Rustic Panorama cottage at Balaton

Welcome in our charming rustic country house! A wonderful space to relax, meet up family and friends and explore this marvelous region which is usually called Hungarian Provence. The panoramic view is also amazing! Our rustic cottage is located on one of the most characteristical volcanic hill at the lake Balaton it is called St. George-hill. The house is about 300 meters high on the hill. The terrace area around the house spread over two levels provides a fantastic free view of the lake Balaton. A part of the terrace is covered where is a big table with benches. This is suitable for appr. 10 people to sit. St. George-hill is a nature reserve. It is an excellent area for small trip and excursions. The top of the hill is only 1,5 hours by foot. The hill belongs to a famous vine region where typical Hungarian white Riesling varieties are made. There are some vineyards and cellars in the near. If you like wines you will enjoy the different kind of wines. The closest beach is about 8 km (10 min by car) from the house in Szigliget which is very ideal for families and for group of friends. (URL HIDDEN) The closest town, Tapolca, is appr. 10 km (12 min by car) with historical city center, a lot of cultural programs and supermarkets. We offer for your comfort our beautiful guest house. Purpose-built, with a spectular panoramic view, located at the popular Saint George's Hill (Szent György hegy) in the territory of the Balaton Uplands National Park. Guests can use everything in the house - cook, use the washing machine and also cook in the garden. We provide linen and towels. Availability Our apartment opens from April to October, to everyone who wishes to spend a vacation at this beautiful lake - the largest in Europe! Accommodation is available for 4-6 people. You are always welcome, either alone or with your family and friends. We are sure you are going to have the best holiday if you choose us. Before and during their stay the guest are welcome to communicate with us on the Airbnb site through e-mail or phone for whatever questions they have. This is our family's summer house, and we don't live close by, but I will be there to welcome you, show you around the house and tell you everything you need to know about the area - then guests will have their own peace! Szent György Hill is situated approximately 8km from the lake. This is one of the most beautiful of the volcanic hills at Lake Balaton, and we recommend visitors take a nice trip to the top of the hill and take in the breathtaking views. The city of Tapolca - called the Mediterranean jewellery box - is less than 5km away. The city offers plenty of shopping and sightseeing opportunies, such as the old mill and the lake cavern - just so many interesting places to explore. There's the famous thermal lake at Héviz, and plenty of other spas, old castles, spectacular hill views (closest is Badacsony Hill which actually starts from our house), good cycling routes, wine cellars with tasting, and not forgetting Lake Balaton itself. Here you can swim, fish and sail in complete tranquility or even go on a boat trip. Stroll through the charming old village of Szigliget, to the newly renovated beach, the castle on the hilltop or rent a bike at the local shop and discover the hilly terrains around the village - visit the local rural market at Káptalantóti or go horse riding in unspoilt nature! Our cottage is at the lake Balaton on the St. George-hill. From the road no. 71 is cca 5 km, the last 2 km is on the hill, in the forrest. It is really practical to have a car disposal. We meet our guests at the railwaystation at Tapolca and we lead them to the house. It takes about 10 minutes. Unlimited internet
