Set on 25acres at the foothills of the local National Park, you are free to roam around the land or relax on the large sunny wraparound deck, grill your own meal on the BBQ or head down the valley to one of the several excellent pubs and eateries. 2 bedrooms, both with very comfortable Queen size beds. There is also a comfortable sofa bed in the lounge. The home is fully set up as a holiday rental with all linens, kitchen facilities, washing machine, iron, hairdryer etc to enjoy. Good cellphone reception, Wifi provided, landline for local calls, tv, dvd player, boardgames and bookshelf for rainier days. Large clawfoot bath as well as shower with good pressure in the bathroom. Relax and unwind with a handcrafted cider, boutique beer or local wine in one of the sun-loungers on the wraparound deck; entertain in the summer time on the patio under the grapevine, or read a good book settled into one of the bean bags out of the afternoon heat in the cool of the adobe mudbrick walls. This property is a beautiful gem in the Abel Tasman, set on 25 acres at the base of the National Park. * 25 minutes scenic drive from Motueka alongside the river * 25 minutes drive to Kaiteretere Beach * 15 drive to the Mt Arthur carpark to enjoy a hike, * 2 minutes to the end of the driveway to the river * 40 minutes from Nelson airport Feed the eels at the bottom creek; head out for an evening flyfish in the world-renowned river 2 minutes walk at the bottom of the driveway; go for a hike in the Kahurangi National Park 15 minute drive up the back of the property; head out for a kayak from Kaiteriteri 20 minute drive; explore the local mountain biking tracks; visit the local heritage pubs in the area; book a massage with the neighbouring mobile therapist. There are so many relaxation and recreational options both on the property and in the local area you may just need to visit more than once, in more than 1 season. We have a wonderful caretaker who lives up the road if an emergency presents itself, you will be provided with her number, otherwise you have the house to yourself. From time to time we have guests in the cottage across the driveway from you, however both properties are in complete privacy from each other. The cottage is available to be booked in combination with the house for larger bookings, please enquire. Total people between both houses is 9 max. Kahurangi National Park is literally our backdrop and the trail head car park is a 20min Drive from your gate. Abel Tasman National Park is a 30 min drive, as is Kaiteriteri Beach, Mapua etc. The neighbours over from the flat paddock in front of the house farm deer on 600 acres; Dion our neighbour up the road runs sheep on our 25acres so you may see him from time to time moving sheep with his working dogs. A car is a must-have Since Cyclone Gita visited Motueka in March 2018, the roads are all open but have suffered from slips, so please be prepared for a slower trip out to the accommodation. With this in mind, we are recommending guests to save yourselves a 25min drive back into town by getting your supplies at the supermarkets in Nelson or Motueka before heading out to the farm, so you can relax and enjoy the space when you get there.
