Lovely self-contained Cottage Annex
in Heart of Dorset, near Beautiful Countryside and Sites, for a Special getaway... a relaxing space, comforting classic furnishings, well stocked & equipped kitchenette, softest linens & sumptuous bed, and life's little luxuries included... We offer a 2nd Annex, also, with a spacious 2 room suite, with similar standard, comfort & style. SO, PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT OUR "LOVELY SELF-CONTAINED GARDEN ROOMS" LISTING HERE ON AIRBNB, ALSO. OVERVIEW: A beautifully furnished self-contained annex in the garden of our old thatched home. Originally built as a victorian laundry, the accommodation has been lovingly converted, to comprise of a large bedroom, equipped kitchenette-dressing area, and bathroom with shower, fluffy towels and selection of toiletries. The furnishings are classic traditional and unfussy, with oak cabinetry, a cafe table and pair of armchairs, and antique dresser, and many designer details. The curtains are thick and warm, the cottage dark and very quiet, so a good rest is hopefully assured. MEDIA & ACTIVITIES: The cottage has wi-fi, flat screen tv and dvd with freesat, and an extensive library of films, books, OS maps and music is available for your use. We are very familiar with the area, so can help with journey planning and finding luscious pubs. Also, a picnic hamper, rug, chairs and sun umbrella are available for days out. Please simply ask if need anything. SLEEP: We have furnished the property with possibly the most sumptuous comfy bed! VSpring with feather topper and squidgy feather pillows and duvet layers in 600 thread count luxurious linens, and soft throws. Equally cosy hypoallergenic bedding is available upon request. ADDITIONAL GUESTS: There is plenty of room for a travel cot- extra single bed available here, such as if you are travelling with your baby or older child, simply ask. PETS: Pets are welcome by prior consent. Also, please be mindful of our own, very friendly, never in guest rooms and kept in the main home. BREAKFAST: Tea, coffee, juices and snacks will be provided, as are condiments. A continental breakfast, including selection of fresh breads and fruits, cereals, cheeses and yoghurts, will be available in your room, or optionally a full English or American is available upon request, in your room or the dining room. Little extras can be arranged, such as vase of flowers or bubbly to mark an occasion upon arrival, so please enquire. The independence of own well equipped cottage as described. Shared areas include: large cottage garden with own area, seating and BBQ-fire pit w/ supplies available to lounge on warmer days and nights. Main home lounge, to share a drink and talk, especially on cooler days, movies and games available. Can enjoy on own w/prior arrangement, and w/consideration of Covid issues. Main home kitchen for my prepped cooked breakfast, or if want to relax and cook and enjoy your own dinner, just on your own. Off street parking on gravel driveway or quiet roadside. As much or as little as you prefer! May want the privacy and independence, ready for a quiet retreat a few days. Sometimes simply a passing greeting when catchup and treat of cooked breakfast brought on tray to cottage door is perfect. May want lots of info on local sites and delicious pub meals, support getting back from said pub after celebrations, conversations lounging in garden or home, a long Sunday brunch shared @ table. We live away from the main road in a peaceful central village location with trees and relaxing cottage garden to enjoy, near the church and down the lane from village green and hall. There is ample space to park your car off-road. Lovely scenery, friendly gentle village w/ sense of community, near to several interesting places. I've simply always felt so @ home, cosy and comfortable here! Durweston is a lovely Dorset village by the River Stour, surrounded by picturesque rolling hills, a designated area of "outstanding natural beauty", wonderful for rambling and outdoor pursuits. Blandford, Shaftesbury, and Sturminster Newton are nearby for amenities, farmers market and boutique shopping. Within easy reach is the magnificent Dorset Jurassic coast, the long stretches of sandy beaches of Poole and Bournemouth and the cathedral city of Salisbury. Beautiful Bath is a bit further, and even London is accessible by train. So, various day journeys and sightseeing can be enjoyed... Our location in countryside village, a couple miles from town, means a car for journeys is best. There are local taxis and buses. There's plenty of local scenery and things to do. So, if we can coordinate journey & you can cover cost, I'll drive from and to train station, please join us if going somewhere, such as the coast, and can borrow our bicycles...
