Long Alley Barn is a rural retreat in the beautiful Australian Bushland only 2 hours from Sydney. Lawson Park is nestled on the edge of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area and provides a convenient place to explore the western edge of the Mountains and its Towns. The Barn has been restored with all the facilities to accommodate a modern getaway while preserving the integrity of the old farm structure. Guests are invited to enjoy the beauty and serenity of this place. Perfect for couples. Long Alley Barn is located overlooking one of the properties dams. It features spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen areas, that are heated by a large stone fireplace and a potbelly stove. Enjoy Alfresco dining on the verandah or just find a sunny spot to capture the bushland view with a good book! The attached bathhouse features a stylish bathroom with rainfall shower and claw foot bath with views of the surrounding bushland and a separate washroom/WC. Snuggle into the ground floor bedroom where a queen bed overlooks one of the property's dams. Gaze out through the french-door balcony windows to the treetops from the comfort of the elevated king bedroom. Long Alley Barn is self-catering style accommodation with basic provisions supplied including tea & coffee, pantry items & eco-friendly bathroom consumables. We have links to some delicious local providers for breakfast and meal packs. We can provide details on request and these can be pre-ordered directly with the providers 48 hours prior to your stay and they will be delivered ready for your stay. Off-Grid - The property is solar powered, rainwater and bio septic connected. These simple considerations reduce our footprint on our environment. We ask guests to consider use all facilities in moderation in respect of the off-grid amenities provide. Long Alley Barn is located on a rural property, self check in is preferred. If guests require help with additional information or help during their stay we are always available by phone. Lawson Park is a working property and we live in the main house far enough away for you to have privacy during your stay. Long Alley Barn, Lawson Park is in prime position for exploring the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area and its many attractions from Katoomba to Jenolan Caves. Easy day trips to Oberon, Bathurst, Mudgee. HARTLEY VALE We would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land, the Dharug and Wiradjuri people, and pay respect to the Elders past and present. We are committed to learning about the history of First Nations Australians in the Hartley Vale region and welcome any information or correspondence. Our valley was once home to the bustling community supporting the Hartley Vale shale mine (c.1865). Remnants of the settlement are found throughout the Vale, along the old winder trails, pits and Hartley Cemetery. Nearby, the Comet Inn has been accommodating locals and tourists since 1879. Down the road, Collits' Inn (c.1823) once served travellers en route to Bathurst and now hosts weddings and functions. Local Restaurants - In the Hartley Valley, Ambermere Inn & Store is a local Gem. Alchemy Pizza is a short drive away. In Lithgow 15 minutes away is a town with all essentials, with a variety of cafes, Restaurants & Pubs such as The Gaudry Hotel. Further afield Tarana Hotel towards Oberon and The Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens towards Bilpin a just a few places to explore. Hartley Fresh Cafe has great produce and take away meals that can also be delivered. Bushwalking & Climbing - The Blue Mountains World Heritage Area is famous for beautiful scenery, bushwalks, climbing and hidden lookouts with the Mt York historic trails at our front gate. Festivals & Community Events - Nearby, the historic village of Hartley hosts seasonal activities; attend the annual Lithgow Iron Fest; Mount Victoria Great Train Weekend, discover Spring & Autumn Garden Festivals, local farmers and craft markets. Relaxing - The property offers opportunities for strolls along the creek, garden picnics and sitting on the Verandah enjoying the view. Staying at Lawson Park will require your own car transport, we are an easy 2 hour drive from Sydney through the Blue Mountains and 15 mins from east of Lithgow. Our access road is not sealed but in good condition and suitable for most standard vehicles. We will provide you with detailed directions to find us and we have a lot of local knowledge in getting around. Guests are invited to book 2 night minimum stays & 3 night minimum stays on NSW long weekends & Easter weekends inclusive of Friday to Sunday nights. For Christmas & New Year, 3 night minimums inclusive Eve, Day and following day. Special rates also apply for 3 night minimum stays during low season when listed. Please note our house rules when booking, our property is unsuitable for small children
