Studio apartment on the Buckhannon River

Welcome to our home located along "Country Roads" near Sago, WV on the scenic Buckhannon River. We are just 5 miles from Buckhannon, WV and WV Wesleyan University. Nearby recreational areas include Stonecoal Lake and Stonewall Jackson Lake. The studio apartment is attached to our home and allows private, direct access to the river for water activities. The apartment includes a queen size bed, sleeper sofa, private bath and shower and an eating area with a scenic view of the river. The apartment is new construction having been completed in 2018. You will have your own private entrance with a lockbox. The kitchenette has a mini fridge, microwave, coffeemaker and a toaster oven. No stove. You will have access to a private beach on the river from which to swim and fish. At the right time of year, you can also kayak from this location. You cannot launch a boat from this area; however, there is a public boat launch a little farther down the river. Please be aware that any water activities you undertake are done at your own risk. The river has varying depths and current. It has large rocks and, if you do decide to go wading in the river, water shoes are highly recommended. In addition to the apartment you will have access to your own parking space, the yard in front of the house, the patio and the private beach on the river. Unless guests specifically request extra supplies or maintenance, we will maintain our distance to provide you the level of privacy you wish. We own an organic farm on the other side of town that takes a good deal of our time. We are happy to say hello and discuss the area if we happen to be available. Naturally the Buckhannon River is the main attraction. It is stocked with trout further up river and muskie below. In front of the property, I have caught the occasional muskie but usually small mouth bass and rock bass are on the end of the line. An evening dip in the water is always refreshing after a hot day. Other attractions nearby include Main St. Buckhannon with its shops and restaurants, Stonecoal and Stonewall Jackson Lakes where you can kayak, fish and run larger motorboats, Stonewall Jackson resort with its amenities and Audra state park. Please, no children under 12 years of age due to open steps and river access.
