Casa do Alambique

Alambique has a double bedroom with a balcony, living room with a wood burning stove, TV, kitchen, bathroom and 2 terraces. Capacity: 2 people (+ 2 1 sofa-bed for a kid at the living room). Alambique is 1 of the 3 cottages of Quinta Velha das Amoreiras, located at the peaceful outskirts of Vila Franca do Campo, classified as rural tourism within a farm covering an area of (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , which extends all the way to the sea, with amazing views. This is a self catering cottage with shared grounds and swimming pools. From the outside upper terrace you can enjoy the view over the sea and small town of Vila Franca do Campo. All guests have direct access to both swimming pools, the natural one by the sea and the other by the cottages, as well as access to the barbecue and the laundry room (washing and dry machine). There is a private access to the property from the main road. The property keeper is Mr Carroça. A local man that as been working there since he was a kid! He doesn't speak any other language apart from Portuguese but amazingly all guests seem to understand him as if they where locals... The real interaction experience Quinta Velha das Amoreiras is located at Ribeira das Tainhas, Concelho de Vila Franca do Campo, covering an area of 2.6 hectares, which extends all the way to the sea. The entrance features a coat of arms made from solid rock, given to Captain-Major João Francisco Pacheco de Bettencourt in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) According to historical sources, Quinta Velha has been in the hands of the same family since (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , highlighting its strong heritage. It was previously largely composed of vineyards and orchards, supplemented with greenhouses to produce pineapples, which are still in operation. In the (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) s, the vineyards were progressively replaced with bananas and other produce as economic conditions evolved, resulting in the abandonment of the cellar and alembic. These two buildings have now been fully restored and improved in order to offer a rural tourism facilities. There is a natural swimming pool located right by the shore, built with black volcanic rock and with direct access to the sea. There is another swimming pool, located by the houses above with a spectacular view over the ocean. The best way is by car. Public transportation is not easy as the house is isolated from the main village. Groceries and restaurants are about 3 miles away from our property.
