New Cotswold retreat. The Old Stables Annexe.

A charming self-contained annexe adjoining our barn conversion, with it's own private entrance and patio. Set in the beautiful Cotswold hamlet of Westonbirt, within a few mins walk of The Hare and Hounds Pub/Hotel and nearby Westonbirt Arboretum. We are a 5 min drive to the historic Cotswold town of Tetbury, which boasts many fine antique shops, boutiques, delis, cafes and pubs, as well as the Prince of Wales’ Highgrove shop. We are also local to the Beaufort Polo Club & the Highgrove Estate. The Old Stables Annexe is newly built and designed internally to resemble a spacious shepherd’s hut, using Farrow and Ball paints and tongue & groove lined walls. This self-contained Annexe comprises of a bedroom (with King sized bed), a day room, an inner lobby and a shower room. You have your own entrance through a small private patio/courtyard, with outdoor table and chairs. The bedroom is light and airy with a Smart TV (no aerial), chest of drawers and hanging space. The bright day room has a desk/dining area with USB points and its own private entrance. The inner lobby has tea making facilities, a coffee machine with pods supplied and a small fridge (situated in the day room) which will be stocked with milk and bottled water for your arrival. The shower room has a walk-in shower, sink and toilet and has it's own hot water supply. A travel cot can be supplied if required. Parking directly outside the Annexe entrance gate. We live in the adjoining barn conversion, however you will be left alone to enjoy your stay at the Old Stables Annexe. Equally, if required, we are happy to answer any queries etc you may have during your stay. The hamlet of Westonbirt is set in a vibrant part of the Cotswolds with much going on. The hamlet is based around Westonbirt School, a Grade 1 historic house, once owned by Robert Holford who founded Westonbirt Arboretum in the late 1800s. The Arboretum now provides a magical place which includes a skyline treetop walkway and is famous for hosting various events through the year such as open air music concerts during the summer months, the glorious Autumn Colours and the Enchanted Christmas Lights. The Hare and Hounds Hotel (once an 18th century coaching inn) is a short stroll away from us and houses the Jack Hare’s Pub for a bite to eat as well as a smart restaurant for more formal dining. Within 5 mins drive we have the Beaufort Polo Club which hosts matches and events all through the season, anyone can take a picnic along at the weekend and enjoy watching a game of polo. Or you can pre-book tickets to wander around the Prince of Wales’ gardens on his Highgrove Estate. Or stroll through the historic streets of Tetbury, with its many antique shops, cafes, and boutiques. Tetbury hosts various events during the year including the infamous Woolsack Race in May and the Festival of Music in October. Within 10 mins drive we have the Badminton Estate which hosts the world renowned Badminton Horse Trials each year in May and Princess Anne’s estate which hosts the Gatcombe Horse Trials each summer. If you fancy a pamper session we have Calcot Spa and Whatley Manor Spa both about a 10 min drive away. The Roman town of Cirencester is a 20min drive to the north and the City of Bath is about 40 mins to the south.
