Relax and unwind in the heart of the Kenepuru Sounds at Te Mahia Bay. Enjoy wide open skies, ocean views and native bush surrounds, plus your own beach, jetty and mooring. Our home has comfortable beds, lovely decor, and is complete with all amenities. Spacious indoor and outdoor living areas open out to a large deck and front lawn with natural surrounds. Bring all your extended family and have fun under the one roof! Special conditions: This is a remote location with limited nearby facilities, water supply and utilities. Bring all your food with you as there is only a small shop at nearby Te Mahia Resort. Bring all your linen requirements with you also. We use a rain water tank, so you will need to go easy with your water usage and limit the time of your showers to a few minutes only. There is no rubbish collection in this area therefore you are required to take all rubbish with you when leaving. We have a mooring in the bay which is registered for vessels up to 9 metres. If you’re bringing in your boat trailer then please park it behind the sleep out otherwise you will get it stuck on the driveway - refer to the drone photo on Airbnb website for guidance. The whole house is yours to use. The upstairs bedroom includes two king single beds with en-suite, as well as an adjoining living space with a single day bed, which opens out to a deck with views across the Te Mahia bay. Located downstairs is the open plan living and dining spaces, and kitchen. There are two bedrooms, both with queen beds, one includes an en-suite, and separate wc and basin. The third bedroom, off the garage has three king singles. There are also two external rooms across the driveway, one with a king bed, the other a queen. We’re available always for any queries via Airbnb or cellphone. There are a few other baches in Te Mahia Bay, but none are as private as ours. Our house offers a compelling mix of ocean views, easy access to the beach, bush walks, and a lovely garden setting. There is wifi, and Sky TV. Te Mahia Motel, only a 5 minute walk away, has a shop and cafe with decent coffee. Portage Resort, only 20 minutes drive, has a superb restaurant and snapper bar. The house is located 40 minutes drive from Havelock via scenic Kenepuru road. From the house, Portage Resort is a 20 minute drive, and Queen Charlotte track is only 10 minutes walk. The bird life here is extraordinarily! Walking through the bush on the nearby track and encountering the Fantails, Tui’s and Bellbirds is a real treat. The Mistletoe bay, and Waterfall bay tracks, as well as the Queen Charlotte Track look out point walk are only ten minutes away. Te Mahia Bay itself is a large sheltered and quiet bay, and our beach is safe and kid friendly. We also have a kayak available for your use.
