Easy access to everything, open sunny living in a relaxed, well appointed family home. Central city, easy access, open plan living. This is Auckland living in the central suburbs with great access to transport (buses are on the corner into town, trains are 15 minutes walk) and easy to get to the city, the west and east coasts and the airport. Jump on a train into Britomart and catch the ferry out to Waiheke for lunch, or nip out to Piha or Karekare beach out west, or take off up north to Matakana or down south to Maretai for a look. The Coromandel is an great day trip too if you fancy a natural bath on Hot Water Beach, or the fabulous Cathedral Cove. Eden Park is just up the road for sports fans and Western Springs houses some great museums for the kids, not mention a special park and the Auckland Zoo which is just no more than 10 mins away in the car. Point Chev is a nearby beach thats excellent for kids and where you can watch the setting sun. The house itself is spiffing, great indoor / outdoor flow right through with an amazing kitchen for entertaining and two lovely outdoor spaces front and back so you can follow the sun all day. All modern ammenties available for use including a coffee machine for pick me up mornings and a powerful blender for your use. The master bedroom is big and comfy and the two kids rooms bright and cheerful. The bathroom is massive too with a big bath for long soaks. In winter we have an open fire for keeping warm and roasting marshmallows on and in summer help yourself to a garden full of vege's and open up the bi-folds front and back for al fresco living : ) Full house. We can sometimes meet you on arrival if we are around but otherwise available on our mobiles to answer any questions. Sandringham is a very multicultural suburb with a good community feel. It's really handy to a highly recommended primary school, Intermediate school, and Grammar High School, local shops, sports centres, the city, sights, beaches, everything! There is a bus stop just 1 minutes walk at the corner of our street to the city. A bus ride to the city can take around (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) mins as it does a round about route. It's only (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minutes by car. Pets: We have a friendly & tolerant 5 year old cat called Charlie. He keeps to himself mostly and just needs to be fed his dry biscuits morning and night to top up his cat bowl. He comes and goes via the cat door. He is wormed and Flea’d regularly :) Doors and Locks If I’m not here to meet you I will leave the Key in the safety box key holder by the front door - and provide you the password prior to arriving. Departing: Please ensure all doors and windows are locked and leave the key in the safe lock box again. There is an alarm but we will leave this off while you're staying. It is located by the front door so please don’t touch it. The glass bi-fold doors at front of the house work in order one by one – unlock the bottom locks and then pull down the top locks to be able to move them, latch the first one back on to the house and then the next one folds back to the door and lastly push the last one out in the middle – I’m sure you’ll work it out but they do need to be opened in that order or it won’t work properly. Note the door handles are slightly fiddly/sticking so just be gentle on them. When out Please make sure when you go out to lock all the deadbolts on the glass doors and bathroom window. Check the gas hobs are all turned off too! Linen Beds will be made up fresh if requested and towels are in the bathroom for you also. If we’ve provided linen before you leave please strip all beds would be super. If late check-out, please put the towels on a normal wash cycle before you leave would be appreciated hugely. Garden Help yourself to any produce from the vegetable garden if it’s ripe and ready and if you fancy watering it any days during your stay would be absolutely amazing too. There should be an abundance of plums at Xmas for you to take advantage of! If you do decide to water the garden please just remember to turn the tap off. Rubbish Rubbish bins are located under the sink – one for Recycling and the other general waste. Spare rubbish bags are under the sink. Next to the carport is the bigger bins for collection – Blue one for recycling and Red one for general waste. Rubbish day is on a Thursday so please put the red and blue bin out on the curb-side on the Wednesday evening or before 7am on Thursday morning. Fires There are too fires, an open fire in the lounge and a fire box in the family room. Wood is provided and the main wood stack is at the back of the house. Coal is provided for extra ooomph. Kindling and firestarters are in the white sideboard cupboard next to the open fireplace. Please do not leave the fires going when out and use the firescreen when unattended. Ash can go in the rubbish when cold. Oven If a power cut ever happens you need to set the timer first before you can use it or it won’t work. Dishwasher 2 x Dishwasher drawers next to the sink. Dishwasher tablets are in a box under the sink. Sink - Standard dish liquid and cloths are kept under the sink. Hot water This is on gas supply so there is endless hot water. Washing machine Washing liquid (pink colour) is under the laundry sink. Put a capful in the top left detergent hole. For standard wash just turn the dial to ‘everyday’ cycle I think for under hour wash – pretty self-explanatory. If you pause the cycle at any point it will release and unlock the lid so please don’t force it. Clothes rack only to dry clothes on. Dryer Please ensure the laundry cupboard door is left open while it’s going, as it’s a front vented dryer so will sweat the cupboard if not left open. It’s in an odd high spot to reach so you might need to stand on a stool if you’re not tall TV There are 2 remotes – 1: One for TV and Netflix 2: Sky remote - turn on so you see blue lights on machine inside the white cabinet and use this to switch between your channels. 3: You can (Hidden by Airbnb) cast to the TV too, just switch the source (top left button on the Sony remote) to HDMI 2 and cast to Living Room TV. Wireless internet You can use mattandtennille-ext, mattandtennille, and mattandtennille5 with the password "swampwatermelonkey". Stereo/Turntable Stereo is under the cupboard under the phonograph record player. Switch to AUX and connect your phone to (Hidden by Airbnb) Cast Family Room Speaker. Also you can play tunes through the TV by casting to Living Room TV Books Your welcome to read any while you are staying but please leave behind when you go. Kids’ Stuff Please feel free to play with the kid’s toys and games but they are all very precious to them so please be kind and look after them. Personal contents Please don’t touch any of the contents in the pull-out bins under the bookshelves. Please don’t touch the alcohol under the kitchen bench. We have left one side of our wardrobe for you to hang your belongings and 2 drawers empty. Please don’t touch our other belongings. Your welcome to use general pantry condiments etc and there is breakfast cereal to get you started. Coffee Machine The coffee machine is an oldie but works well. The left switch turns it on and the right top switch will light up when it's ready to express. For steaming milk, use the milk jug provided. Switch the bottom right button on and again wait for the top right button to light up - this indicates the boiler is at steam temperature and you can use the steamer wand. Remember to switch off the steamer switch when done and the whole machine if not using. Ground coffee is provided and there is also a hand grinder for beans. Kitchen Knives The knives on the bench are good quality Japanese kitchen knives so please only hand-wash them in the sink – do not put through the dishwasher! Please don't attempt to cut bones, etc.
