The Annex Cottage - a 2 bedroom country hideaway

Beautiful accommodation attached to one end of our 17th century Welsh Longhouse with stunning views over the garden and hills beyond. Both bedrooms have king-size beds (5' x 6'5"). A cosy sitting room with log burning stove and door to the shared garden. We provide breakfast ingredients for your first two days inc a loaf of home made bread and marmalade. The Hall Inn pub is just 200 yards away and a short drive to lovely shops in Usk and Raglan plus hikes in the Brecon Beacons Our ancient farmhouse has special views over the Welsh countryside and the rooms are full of rustic character. The main bedroom has a huge window with Juliet balcony. Relax in the chair and listen to the birds and enjoy the view. The bathroom (set between the two bedrooms) has a good shower and there is a separate bath. Both bedrooms have king-size beds (5' x 6'5"). Downstairs there is a cosy sitting room for guests with a log burning stove and television and a door to the shared garden. A fairly simple kitchen equipped with sink, kettle, microwave/convection oven, fridge. This area is connected to the main part of the house but you have complete privacy and independence with your own key. We also have the Bothy cottage, courtyard flat and studio, also listed with Airbnb, if you are a larger group. We provide the ingredients for a delicious breakfast to make yourself in the kitchen including a home made loaf of bread and eggs from our free range chickens . In the summer we love to share with you fruit from the many trees and bushes and any excess veg from our kitchen garden . There is a huge fig tree in the yard and we have many plum and apple trees planted this year ... There is a very good pub within walking distance. You have a lobby entrance with cloakroom. The bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs (with a fairly steep staircase) and the sitting room and kitchen/dining area downstairs. You have direct access to our garden which has the same beautiful views and enjoy walks across our fields. We love having people to stay at Oak Farm and ensure you feel like it is home from home. However, we like to leave you in peace unless you need help or advice with what to do in the area. We are a 10 minute drive from both Usk and Raglan and an easy distance from Monmouth, Abergavenny, The Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. There are wonderful walks therefore and we also have large fields if you don't want to go too far! There is kayaking on the Wye, cycling in the Canop Valley, Castles to explore and numerous other activities to keep you busy. There are some excellent pubs in the area - The Hall Inn is a 5 minute walk and the highly rated Nags Head in Usk is only a few miles away which serves wonderful local produce. We are walking distance from a bus route (from Newport and Monmouth) and there are excellent trains and buses from London to Newport. The Hall Inn pub with good traditional food within walking distance from us (please book in good time!) and the excellent Raglan Arms is only 2 miles drive away. My sister is a yoga teacher and teaches nearby. If you are staying during the week, you are welcome to take part in her regular classes. One gentle class is within walking distance from Oak Farm on a Monday
