Charming House " Le Soleil Couchant" (The Sunset)

The House of "Le Soleil Couchant" is an old farmhouse of 250 years, renovated with the charm of the authentic. It consists of 3 bedrooms, a living room/ kitchen with fireplace and a bathroom. Its large south-west facing terrace overlooks a large wooded park, very pleasant and very quiet. Located in the hamlet of La Gonterie Boulouneix in the municipality of Brantôme-en-Périgord, the house is a haven of peace in a rural area rich in monuments, cave caves etc... The kitchen open to the living room is equipped with an electrical stove, oven, fridge/freezer, filter coffee maker, toaster, electric kettle as well as all possible utensils for cooking. The basic condiments (oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, spices, sugar, tea, coffee...) are provided as well as household products (soap, dishwashing liquid, cleaners, garbage bags...) the household linen is also provided (sheets, towels, tea towels). Due to corona virus, if you prefer to bring your own household linen, you can do so. We wash and disinfect everything after each rental. There is a sitting area with sofa and armchairs around the open fireplace, coffee table and small TV in the main living room. There is also a TV/Library room with sofa coffee table and a wide variety of books to read to relax. The rooms are composed of small double beds. The bathroom/toilet has been completely redone recently. On the back of the house you can enjoy a large south-west facing terrace overlooking a large park of 4000m2 partially wooded where the sunsets are magnificent. The house is ideally located in the heart of the green Perigord, where the quietness is very pleasant and relaxing. 5 km away is Brantôme-en-Périgord (the little venice of Périgord) a charming village surrounded by the Dronne river, where an abbey of the 12th century was built. The pedestrian streets are very nice with several shops and restaurants. " Le Soleil Couchant" is the ideal place to discover the charms and gastronomy of the Périgord. The House is in a large property of 5600m2 and shares the outdoor space with another smaller house. However, everything is done so that you have your tranquility, not overlooking your terrace and your independent cottage. The car park is in the property but the access by car is done from the outside just after the house on the left going down from the village. There is enough space to park 5 cars and shade so that the vehicles stay fresh and the whole is locked by a wooden gate. You will have the possibility to collect the keys of the house directly on site thanks to a coded safe box located at the entrance door of the house. Wifi is available with a very good flow. There is a code for the gate giving access to the parking lot La Gonterie is a small traditional village of Perigord with its white limestone houses and red tile roofs, located in the heart of the countryside and only 6kms from Brantôme-en-Périgord (known for its 12th century abbey and its angled bridge.)You can enjoy hiking, castle tours, the many prehistoric caves, the renowned local gastronomy, as well as the peaceful nature. A car is indispensable to go and come at your will, because the village of La Gonterie is located in the middle of the green Périgord in the countryside. COVID-19 SITUATION The house is completely cleaned and disinfected after each rental. Sheets, towels and tea towels are washed at high temperature (90°) to eliminate any possible traces of virus. If, however, you prefer bringing your own linen, do not hesitate to tell us so that we can prepare the house accordingly.
