Lovely old barn on Entre-Deux-Mers wine route

Lovely stone barn in Entre - Deux - Mers wine country with walks, cycling and Wine Route on the doorstep and Bordeaux and St Emilion only a short drive away. We are surrounded by picture postcard vineyards and woods. The barn sleeps 5, was updated in 2020 and has a spacious open plan living area with fitted kitchen, stylish wood stove and mezzanine. One double and one twin bedroom with en-suite bathrooms. Wooden deck opens onto our picturesque orchard. Shops and restaurants just 3 km away. The barn is located in the orchard of an old winery on the Entre-Deux-Mers wine route with its rolling hills, vineyards and woods. We have entirely refurbished this old stone barn, but retained some of the original features that make for its rustic charm, such as the old oak beams and the exposed stone walls. The barn is detached and thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between stays following Airbnb’s checklist. The barn accommodates four to five people with one double and one twin bedroom. All bedding and towels are provided. Please note that the ensuite bathrooms only have showers. The spacious open plan living space has a kitchen area, lounge and mezzanine. The kitchen area is nicely appointed with an oven, induction hotplate, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, toaster, kettle, microwave, coffee maker, cooking utensils, iron and board. The lounge has a beautiful old wooden dining table and a sofa to kick back in front of the stylish soapstone wood stove that heats the entire living space (pellets provided). The mezzanine has a work space, 42" flat-screen TV with Fire TV and a sofa bed that sleeps a fifth guest. We provide free highspeed optical fibre WiFi, a selection of games, as well as tourist guides and walking and cycling maps of the local area. A large French window opens onto a wooden deck which is great for breakfast in the garden or evening barbecues. Beyond are an orchard and a lovely natural duck pond which is not fenced in. The pond is usually dry in summer but parents must supervise their children. There is free parking right next to the barn for a maximum of two cars. The barn is not suitable for disabled persons as there are two sets of stairs. These aren't too steep however. The double bedroom is on the ground floor. We can take care of the cleaning for you for a 30 € fee payable directly to us. We don't allow pets, parties or smoking. We like to give our guests space, but will gladly have a little chat and share information about things to do, places of interest, hikes, day trips, etc. Wine tastings in local wineries can be organized. We live on the premises and can be reached via text, Airbnb messaging or phone. Welcome to Chanteloiseau, This former winery is situated in the picture-postcard vineyards and rolling hills of Entre-Deux-Mers between the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. You'll find a variety of walking, hiking, cycling and mountain bike trails right on your doorstep. The Bordeaux - Sauveterre cycling route is only 3 km away. Lovely small town Créon with its weekly farmers' market on Wednesdays, arthouse movie theater, restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries, doctors, pharmacies, post office and banks (ATM) is only a 5-minute drive away. DOMAINE ECOLINE organic farm has pick-yourself vegetables and pony riding for kids, while ARBOR ET SENS treetop walkway offers leafy fun for the entire family. Both are just one km away, as is Les Bernards organic goat's cheese maker whose herd can be seen grazing in the pastures close by. Our barn is an ideal base camp to explore the Bordeaux area, with its wine routes, wineries, chateaux, and of course the highlights St Emilion and Bordeaux, both just a 30-minute drive away. Check out the picturesque Garonne valley and its quaint medieval towns and villages, like Cadillac, Rions, Sainte Croix du Mont or Saint Macaire. Last but not least, the Atlantic coast: It takes an hour and a half to the beaches of Lacanau and just under an hour to Arcachon Bay with its famous Pyla dune.
