The Cider House is a converted barn tucked away in the village of Pilton, Somerset. It is a large airy and light space. It has a private courtyard and garden, 24 hour under floor heating and hot water. There is a top quality superking bed, excellent for having sleeps in, with hand pressed 100% linen sheets. To turn up the heat there's a wood burning stove with firewood included. The Cider House is a renovated barn with oak floors, pine panelled walls and floor to ceiling windows. The property is warm and cosy, with underfloor heating and a log burner. A large basket of wood is made available during your stay. Downstairs there's a well kitted out open plan kitchen which comes stocked with olive oil, tea and coffee, salt and pepper, milk and one or two other basics like balsamic vinegar. Tucked to one side is a downstairs shower and loo. Up the stairs there's a second loo, and a bath in the same space as the bed. Towels, sheets and basic toiletries are included. We look forward to welcoming you. The Cider House has its own private garden and patio which is not overlooked by anyone except Pablo the yard cat. Luckily he is totally unshockable and very discreet. If you have any questions, someone is always available a short distance or a phone call away Pilton was famous for being the loudest village in Britain. But now the Glastonbury festival is closed down, it is probably one of the quietest. We do have Bruton about fifteen minutes drive away, an achingly trendy village with an international contemporary art gallery (Hauser & Wirth) and some good restaurants, the best of which is At The Chapel. In the other direction lies Glastonbury, whose High Street is the most aptly name street on earth. A walk up the Tor is always inspiring. Wells, about a quarter of an hour in another direction has an unusually unspoilt medieval centre, which is pretty to wander round. Castle Cary train Station is around a 15 minute journey by car. We will of course be observing all the correct cleaning protocols so the place is safe for you to stay in. To be doubly sure we are leaving a 24 gap between bookings. If you have lost your sense of taste and smell, and have a hacking cough it's probably best to postpone your trip.
