Kalk Bay is a quaint, laid-back seaside village on the Cape Peninsula, with lots of trendy shops, restaurants & bars, some overlooking the picturesque fishing harbour. It is a popular destination for local & overseas visitors alike. Although it’s a suburb of greater Cape Town, the pace differs and life is more relaxed, with a holiday atmosphere. Close to Muizenberg beach (surfers’ paradise) & Simonstown (penguins), with Cape Point a little further. There are small beaches & tidal pools, hiking routes up the mountain with sensational sea views and photo opportunities galore. The best way to get around Kalk Bay is to walk, or catch the train that heads towards Cape Town city centre, and to Simonstown in the other direction. Very Uber friendly.
