A new Hot Tub has been installed and will be available for guests in mid to late January 2022. The home features wood beam cathedral ceilings and a 2-sided seasonal fireplace that separates the dining and living rooms, along with a gourmet kitchen. The kitchen comes complete with double ovens and a warming drawer, with both island and peninsula seating available to facilitate your entertaining needs. Outdoor amenities include a large wraparound mahogany deck, a pond, a fire pit, a stream, and the Asian-inspired landscaping mentioned previously. Floor to ceiling windows combine with the open floor plan to make this an ideal home for today's lifestyle. Enjoy all of this just minutes away from the Gunks for climbing, quick access to hiking and biking trails throughout the Hudson Valley, Lake Minnewaska, local organic farm stands, restaurants and shops! Spend your day hiking or enjoying the Spa at Mohonk Mountain House, or take a short five minute drive to the nearby wineries, shops and restaurants. When you come back, you can enjoy the spectacular views and zen gardens on the property's 6 acres, cook some food on the outdoor grill while watching the sun go down over the unobstructed view of the Shawangunk Ridge, and then end your evening with a glass of wine at the home's fire pit, all while enjoying the peaceful sounds of the stream and pond creatures on the property. The home is set up for relaxation and to decompress from everyday life. The building in the back of the property is one of our Zen spots ... the perfect spot to meditate, practice yoga, or use our exercise bike, kettle bells and weights. Jenny or Franky will also be available for other urgent needs. New Paltz is a town in Ulster County, New York, United States. The town is located in the southeastern part of the county and is south of Kingston. It is well known for the State University of New York at New Paltz and for great rock climbing. The Shawangunk Ridge that overshadows the town is considered one of the best rock-climbing sites in North America. New Paltz is surrounded by great wineries, and visitors following the Shawangunk Wine Trail often visit the area. Embark on the Hudson Valley and all the activities they have to offer. Some of the most special features are the Mohonk Preserve, Minnewaska State Park. "The Gunks" as the locals call it. Enjoy over 25,000 acres of hiking, biking and climbing that offers a variety of seasonal activities to enjoy. There are Several local organic farm markets and a wide array of excellent restaurants. See the house guide for all local attractions. Hyde Park is a short half hour drive. Spend the day and have lunch at the Culinary Institute of America or take a tour of the Historic Roosevelt and Vanderbilt Estates. Walkway over the Hudson is spectacular in the summer time. Spend your day hiking or enjoying the Spa at Mohonk Mountain House, or take a short five minute drive to the nearby wineries. Eat dinner at the Mountain Brauhaus German restaurant also on the ridge just .5 miles away or drive into New Paltz for a large assortment of eating opportunities with in a 10 minute drive. The wine trail has an assortment of annual events, including lobster festivals, jazz concerts and more. Visit the Tuthilltown Spirits Distillary-the first whiskey distillery in New York after prohibition. The Angry Orchard is located on the outskirts of Gardiner, stop by for a tasting. Just a short 15 minute drive from the house. Additionally, the close proximity to historic towns along the Hudson Valley, such as Rhinebeck, Rosendale and Hyde Park. Go sky diving at "The Ranch" located in Gardiner. Go for a jump or park and watch them land. A fun experience for all to enjoy. We are located 10 miles from the Mohonk Mountain House. Go there for the day and maybe visit the Spa for a relaxing massage or climb the lemon squeeze or the ridge tower. Being only 90 miles north of NYC you can get the best of both worlds. Take Amtrak or Metro North into NYC. This is an all season area to explore summer and winter activities. Come, relax and make some wonderful memories.
