WOODLANDS is a cottage inspired 3-level home with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms set on 8 enchanted, and secluded acres. It sleeps 6. The grounds include woods, gardens, lawns, paths, a fire pit, a pond and creek with bridge, and an in-ground saltwater pool (seasonal). The property is located in Germantown, NY (between Rhinebeck and Hudson). Close to Red Hook and Tivoli. The area offers much: hiking, skiing, wineries, breweries, and Germantown’s own James Beard nominated restaurant, Gaskins. The upper level includes the kitchen, dining and living areas. With a wonderful fireplace for those chilly nights. A large sun- drenched deck wraps around this level and offers a dining table for 6 with umbrella and a large propane grill. The lounge chairs at the far end of the deck are gracefully shaded by flowering wisteria. The entry level of the house includes the main bath, washer/dryer and cathedral ceiling den with a lovely private deck. The three bedrooms and second bathroom are located on the lower garden level. Two of the bedrooms have direct access to the covered garden patio. Entering the property through a private gate and driveway, you see an idyllic pond with a wooden bridge. The grounds expand to English flower gardens, a herb garden, and an upper lawn with a fenced herb and fruit garden. The upper lawn is a great place for a game of croquet, bocce or badminton. The gated outdoor pool is surrounded by flowers, lounge chairs, umbrellas, tables and chairs. We have pool toys, games and a small beverage refrigerator in pool house for your use. The pool is typically open from May through September. Woodlands is a true haven in any season! You will have access to our entire home and property. We will get back to you right away. Germantown is a small town with a gourmet market, and a handful of other independently owned shops. The trendy restaurant Gaskins, which is a James Beard nominated restaurant, is a fun spot for dinner. Alder East is a must see shop on main street that often hosts weekend events and pop-up shops. Woodlands is near several breweries, wineries and a distillery. Suarez Family Brewery, Sloop Brewing Co., Clermont Vineyards and Winery, Tousey Winery and Hudson Valley Distillers are all a quick 5-10 minute drive away. Bard College is about 7 miles away in Tivoli and hosts music and film festivals. Tivoli offers many casual dining options. The property sits midway between the towns of Hudson and Rhinebeck. Hudson offers cultural outlets including art galleries, antiques and plenty of restaurants. Rhinebeck is full of boutiques, good restaurants and Upstate Films, showing all the best in cinema both international and independent. Nearby Olana, home of Fredrick Church of the Hudson School of painters, offers stunning views over the Hudson River. Olana - home of the painter Frederick Church - has glorious views over the Hudson River and is about 10 miles away. There are countless glorious river houses to visit in the area. Catamount ski slopes are 28 miles away. Woodlands is a private, gated property in Germantown, NY. The Rhinecliff and Hudson Amtrak train stations are 15 and 20 minutes drive from WOODLANDS. Our small dog is a regular guest at WOODLANDS when we visit.
