Cà Mì is your ideal holiday home if you want to experience the Salento region by living the true rhythm of a small Southern Italy town while enjoying your stay in a truly special place, where the original stones and finishings meet a more contemporary interior design. Galatone is an architectural gem with great, simple restaurants where to enjoy the true local recipes, ideally located near all the main local attractions while far enough from the madding tourist crowds. The apartment is 60 sqm, plus 80 sqm of terraces on three levels. It is located in the historical centre of Galatone, just a few minutes away from the gorgeous sea of Gallipoli, Porto Selvaggio, Santa Maria al Bagno and only 15 minutes from Lecce, the capital of baroque. The city of Galatone is very central: all the major attractions are very easy to reach with a short drive on the freeway. The apartment has been completely remodeled and it consists of a large room with kitchen and living room, a master bedroom featuring an open mezzanine with two extra single beds, a large bathroom with double sinks and enclosed shower. There is another bathroom in the upper terrace, with open-air shower and a sun bathing area with 2 sun beds under a large white canopy. It is very close to pharmacies, banks, groceries and restaurants. Galatone can be reached also by train, but in order to be able to explore freely the surroundings it is strongly recommended to have a car. The Brindisi Airport is only a 40 minutes drive away, with many car rentals available. Cà Mì is an excellent solution for a couple or a small family, as well as for a small group of close friends. At the arrival our guests will be welcomed by our trusted house keepers, who will explain in details all the house features and will answer all questions. Also, at the reservation confirmation, the guests will receive by email a set of information on the house and on Galatone, together with some tips on our favorite restaurants and itineraries. Cà Mì is in the historical centre (Centro Storico) of Galatone, a town conveniently located along the main highway that from Lecce brings to Gallipoli and S. Maria di Leuca. Galatone is one of the few towns of Salento showcasing masterpieces by Giuseppe Zimbalo, the artist behind the most renown sites in Lecce: beautiful churches, palazzi, portals and ruins are all at walking distance from Cà Mì. Galatone is an ideal starting point to explore the beauties of Salento: the Ionio coastline has such gems as Gallipoli, Santa Caterina, Porto Cesareo and Porto Selvaggio. The sightseeing drive all the way down to S. Maria Di Leuca and Otranto is a must. Lecce (renamed the Florence of Southern Italy), Galatina and Nardò, all featuring gorgeous examples of Barocco Leccese, are just a few minutes away. Or you might just want to drive around and get lost in the fantastic rural landscape to discover - and taste! - your own 'Best of Salento'. Galatone is only at a 40 minutes drive from the modern Brindisi airport and at a 2 hours drive from Bari's, a destination to all major airlines. Galatone can also be reached by train, through a local service that unfortunately has very poor daily connections. The most important railway station of the area is Lecce, which is also the only city with a taxi service. A car is strongly recommended to explore freely and thoroughly the region.
