Cosy converted railway wagon by lake
A peaceful retreat, overlooking a lake and adjacent to pastures. The cabin has a double bed with memory foam mattress, a cosy sitting room, where you can relax amidst throws, beanbags and cushions. The electric fire means that you can return from the coldest of outings and be toasty warm in minutes. With the remote control, you can even do this from the comfort of your bed! We’re by no means 5* luxury but if you’re after rustic charm this is the place for you! The wagon sits on the far side of a lake, with our family home the other side. The cabin has a double bed, a cosy sitting room, where you can relax amidst throws, beanbags and cushions. In the rear of the cabin there is an equipped kitchen. A microwave, table top hob and fridge mean you can either cook inside or on the barbecue out on the decking. The bathroom is sizeable with a walk in shower, loo and sink. Feel free to explore our 14 acre plot - wild and woolly but nature reigns! Cows in the field beyond the cabin, horses in the adjacent paddock, and wild ducks, coots, moorhen and geese make themselves at home on the lake. We are very lucky to see kingfisher whizzing over the water and water-voles in the banks. Walking opportunities are endless from here. Either grab the OS map provided and head out straight from the wagon, or explore further afield using one of the walking books available. During the Summer months/dry spells you can drive straight up to the wagon and park where ever you like. When it gets wetter, during the Autumn and Winter, parking next to the cabin is tricky so best to park at the main house which is at the end of the drive and head back across the garden with your bags. There is a wheelbarrow if you need it! It can be wet underfoot. Please bring wellies to get round to the cabin as the only access to your accommodation is around the lake via a paddock/garden..... Also, please bring a torch if arriving after dark as we don’t want you falling in the lake! X We live on the other side of the lake and will leave you to your own devices but if you need anything just shout and we will do our very best to help out! We live at the end of a long drive in the tiny hamlet of Nind. There is a Spar shop a 3 minute drive away in Kingswood and there are numerous pubs in the local vicinity which provide a wide range of eating experiences! The Dinneywicks pub in Kingswood is a lovely 15 minute walk away across the fields/paths by the stream.
