EXCEPTIONAL COUNTRY RESIDENCE of character with luxurious accommodation, fully equipped games room and set in 24 acres of landscaped grounds and ancient woodland. One of Radnorshire's finest homes, dating from 1803, the Hall has a glorious south facing position with spectacular views across the upper Wye Valley and towards the Elan Valley hills. Additional holiday cottages are available within a 1 mile radius. REDUCTIONS for bookings of 6 persons or less - contact us! Newly available! The highly attractive Hall offers a magical experience to live on a country estate - like a mini Downton Abbey with the oak panelling, stucco ceiling, stained glass windows, fireplaces and impressive staircase! In addition to the oak panelled reception hall with stucco ceiling and woodburner there is an oak panelled library / formal dining room with a 15’ oak table seating 16+, with French doors opening on to the south facing terrace; a drawing room seating 10 with small dining table in the bay window; a large lounge comfortably seating 18; a morning/breakfast room (seating 8); farmhouse kitchen (seating 8); well equipped games room (pool and table tennis); eight principal bedrooms; three/four bathrooms and three further WCs. There are large gardens offering several seating areas, lawns suitable for croquet and other lawn games, an orchard and lovely woodland walks. Guests have full access to the Hall, gardens and woodland. Hosts are located within relatively close proximity of the Hall and are contactable during your stay. The Hall is located a pleasant ten minute walk from the friendly and popular tourist and market town of Rhayader with shops including butchers, grocers, delicatessen/whole food shop, supermarket, pubs, inns and cafes. A well equipped Leisure Centre offers swimming pool with jacuzzi, squash courts, multi-gym and concert hall. Rhayader also has riverside parks, tennis courts and is home to the newly constructed 'Pump Track Wales'. The renowned Elan Valley with its wonderful scenery, dams and reservoirs is one of Wales' most picturesque spots. Over 80% of the Elan valley is designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest, home to reservoirs, aqueducts, hundreds of animals and an abundance of opportunities to have fun. There are walks, bug hunts, cycling trails galore and the area has International Dark Sky Park status, meaning that on clear nights you can see stars, planets and constellations twinkling away with little light pollution. Rhayader is conveniently located on the main north-south road in Wales (A470) and the main road from the Midlands (A44). It is approximately 1 hour from the West Wales coast at Aberystwyth, from Hereford and from Abergavenny; 1.5 hours from Cardiff and two hours from Birmingham. The nearest railway stations are at Llandrindod Wells (10 miles) and Caersws (17 miles).
