Ffermdy Bach, close to Borth y Gest's coastal path

Ffermdy Bach is a self contained cottage adjoining our traditional Welsh farmhouse. It has a separate entrance and garden so you can enjoy your holiday undisturbed. You are only 5 minutes walk from the coastal path and beautiful beaches of Borth y Gest. There's so much to explore and see in the area: Snowdonia, Portmeirion, castles, narrow gauge railways in nearby Porthmadog and if you are looking for more excitement the zip wires at Blaenau and Llanberis are popular as well as Surf Snowdonia. We have renovated in winter 2020 and now have a new kitchen with dishwasher. The sitting room has a dining area and log burner with a free supply of logs, perfect for winter evenings. The television has iplayer and Netflix. The bedroom has vintage furniture and all cotton bedding. We have recently bought a new kingsize bed to replace the vintage small double bed. The shower room is modern and has a glass sink and tiles made by my husband! The private garden is large and has a table and chairs for sitting out. There is plenty of parking space on our private drive. As our house adjoins the cottage we are easily contactable if you have a problem or need advice. However, we're sure you want to get on with your holiday in peace & quiet so we'll respect your privacy at all times. The cottage is on the edge of a private caravan park and only a few minutes walk from the coastal path. Beautiful beaches are reached with a few more minutes walk and the pretty village of Borth y Gest is 10/15 minutes walk along the path. The village has a good cafe, The Sea View and a popular bistro, Moorings so you can go out for a meal or coffee and walk back along the coastal path. The popular Black Rock Sands is 15 minutes walk away in the other direction with its mile long sandy beach and caves. The closest shop is in Morfa Bychan, a 10 minute walk away, here you can buy all essentials. In Morfa Bychan is a pub and a fish & chip shop. The harbourside town of Porthmadog is half an hour's walk or 10 minutes drive away. As well as the harbour it has two narrow gauge railways and lots of independent shops as well as supermarkets. A car is advisable to experience the area in full but there is a railway station in Porthmadog and mainline station in Bangor which has good links to other UK cities. There is a bus stop close by which has buses into Porthmadog. If you bring bikes we can help you store them securely. The area has a very low crime rate. Corona virus update: To ensure safety for our guests we are taking extra cleaning precautions between guests. As well as our usual high standard of cleaning we will be disinecting all switches, remote controls, handles, keys, hangers etc with antibacterial products and will be wearing gloves and masks when we undertake cleaning tasks. We will be airing the cottage so you might find windows open on arrival. We will provide additional anti bacterial cleaning products and gloves for your use. Sorry no dogs allowed
