Melford Allotment Shed is vintage self catering accommodation. It is located by a footpath which is next to river side walks and a five minute wander to the centre of the village. It is a self contained Lodge with its own patio and garden. The interior takes inspiration from a 1940's allotment shed furnished with hand painted furniture and genuine vintage touches. I have spent three years crafting, collecting and repurposing everything it contains. It was built in 2010 and decorated by myself. The building was designed by myself and I did much of the building work with help from family and friends. I have mended and repaired the stained glass that it contains and tried to use genuine 1930/40s items where possible. I wanted to create a cosy, relaxing and nostalgic space for people to enjoy. The lodge is accessed via a footpath and is in the country by allotments. Please be prepared to bring walking boots or shoes in wet weather. Once entering the gate you have entire use of the lodge and garden. I live next door and am available to contact on the mobile number I have provided. Lond Melford is an historic village, lined either side of a mile long central road with period buildings. It has a great selection of independent restaurants, tea rooms, lifestyle and antique shops, beauty rooms, butchers and a bakers. It has lovely country side walks and two stately homes. A heritage centre close to the lodge has information are artefacts relating to the history of the village. We are a 30 minute drive to Bury St Edmunds and Colchester with its direct train link to London in an hour. The village has a number of free parking options. We are a two minute walk to a bus stop which will take you to Bury St Edmunds and Lavenham, which was one of the locations for the filming of scenes from Harry Potter. Please mention before your stay if it is a special occasion and you require flowers, cakes or hampers for an additional charge.
