A special opportunity, unlike anything else, to stay right on Gold Hill in a luxury one bedroom cottage that has been immaculately restored. Gold Hill is known for the famous 'Hovis bread' ad and many visitors come to Shaftesbury in Dorset and photograph the spectacular views from the hill. With no passing traffic, the cottage is very quiet and peaceful, yet you are only steps away from the shops, restaurants and pubs in the High Street. The Space The Cobbles is a beautifully proportioned one bedroom cottage that was totally refurbished in 2018. The cottage can sleep up to 3 guests. Features include: Ground Floor Light and spacious open plan living room with wood burning stove Dining table for 3, sofa and 43" smart TV Open plan bespoke kitchen with oven, induction hob, fridge with small freezer compartment, dishwasher, nespresso coffee machine and milk frother The bathroom has a luxury walk in rain shower, heated towel rail, soft white luxurious towels and complimentary toiletries Limestone floor with underfloor heating throughout the ground floor Utility cupboard with washing machine and laundry items Private garden to the rear with two terraces, one close to the cottage for dining and one at the end for lounging with a super comfortable outdoor sofa and chairs Upstairs Open plan bedroom with hand painted king size bed with luxury vi-spring mattress, crisp white cotton bed linen, 32” smart TV, dormer windows with views onto the garden and rolling hills to the south There is a pull out single guest bed with deep pocket sprung mattress Original lime washed beams, oak floor and coir rugs Guest access You will have full access to the cottage and garden. The nearest car park is Bell Street, a few minutes from the cottage. The car park post code is SP7 8AP I am available to talk with you by telephone or email during the duration of your stay and will endeavour to promptly return any messages left. Please note I am not based in Shaftesbury. Shaftesbury is a remarkable Saxon hill top town situated on the A30 road, with Blackmore Vale to the West and Cranborne Chase & West Wiltshire Downs, AONB, to the East. The Salt Cellar is based at the top of Gold Hill, a busy cafe, open during the day. One can sit outside for coffee or lunch and bask in the miles of uninterrupted breathtaking views. There are various independent shops, essential shops and a great supermarket 5 minutes walk from the Cobbles. The nearest train station is Gillingham, a 10 minute taxi ride to Shaftesbury. Direct trains from London Waterloo take 2 hours to Gillingham and run frequently. If driving, there is unrestricted free parking at the bottom of Gold Hill where the cobbles reach the tarmac and on St James's Street and Layton Lane. You can drive up Gold Hill to unload and load the car but cannot park on Gold Hill. The nearest car park is Bell Street car park, approx 4 mins walk to the cottage. Restrictions apply. The cobbles is a steep cobbled street and you may not want to drive up and down the road. If you would rather not drive up the Cobbles, there is parking on the High Street and near by streets for one hour, although you will have to check the parking restrictions.
