Spacious Greensboro House, Caspian Lake/Mountain Views, Beach Acc
Our custom built family vacation home is set on a hilltop at the end of a private drive with sweeping views of farmland, distant mountains and Caspian Lake. A 5-minute walk down the dirt drive brings you to the Highland Lodge. Another 5-minute walk past the Lodge tennis court (available for a small fee) leads you along a nature trail to the beautiful private Lodge beach, where our renters can enjoy access to a pristine lake with a sandy beach, boats, beach chairs, a float and changing house. Sailboats, kayaks, canoes and loons far outnumber motorboats on this unusually tranquil lake. The beach has ample parking if you prefer to drive. The house has 6 bedrooms and 2 or 3 full baths and comfortably sleeps 10-13. Two bedrooms (double and king) and a full bath are on the main floor. On the ground floor there is a bedroom/sitting room with full bath (not open in winter), twin beds, plus outdoor access and lake view. On the top floor there are two bedrooms (queen and double) plus a "dorm" room with three singles, and a full bath. There is a large crib in the corner of the queen bedroom. A sunny open-concept kitchen and dining area (the table expands to seat 14) opens onto a spacious deck with fabulous views. The bright and airy living room boasts a Steinway Grand piano, a woodstove and windows on all sides. There is ample parking, and a spacious lawn with a fire pit for evening camp fires. The town of Greensboro has a vibrant summer community with a family-friendly golf and tennis club open to guests. Willey’s famous General Store, Jasper Hill and other artisan cheese makers, the Hill Farmstead Brewery, Sunday evening lake concerts, organic farmsteads offering fresh produce, the Barr Hill Nature Preserve, The Craftsbury Chamber Music Series and Circus Smirkus are just some of the many attractions that draw people to this area year after year.
