Grace Adventure House, walk to Port, Lake Michigan
I invite you to experience my spacious, peaceful and delightfully bright two bedroom Cream City Brick upper flat, only 4 blocks from the sparkling shores of Lake Michigan. You will find Grace Adventure House to be an escape from the pressures and busyness of your world where warmth and charm beckon you to enter into rest. Your place of retreat is furnished with Eastern European antiques from years of living overseas and is overflowing with character inside and out. We accept dogs only - sorry. Large, light, and cozy open living and dining rooms call for nestling in with conversation and soul-filling activities. Games, art supplies, books provided. Well equipped kitchen for the most discriminating cook. As of June, 2021, the apartment has been updated and freshly remodeled, exposing some of the beautiful brick, adding more unique furniture pieces recommended by my dear friend and owner of Design Xchange in Hartland, WI, Katie Stuckey Guindon. If you enjoy the beauty of upscale furnishings as much as I do, you’ll want to stop in and browse. Oh, and tell Katie, “Dave sent me, and thank you for the beautiful remodeling and refurnishing you helped with at Grace Adventure House!” (Website hidden by Airbnb) (Website hidden by Airbnb) Enjoy views (well, at least a sliver) of Lake Michigan from the front porch wicker chairs. Grill in the shared backyard. A 5-burner gas grill available for use, patio table and chairs, and a nice new deck! I respect your desire for privacy and am committed to make your stay outstanding. I’m on the property and available to help in any way I can. I am on a continual quest to experience every beautiful, adventurous and nature-y spot in the area, and I will custom download them on you if you'd like. Reminiscent of Door County or a Norman Rockwell painting, our delightful thriving fishing town of Port Washington is only a 5 minute walk away. You're sure to enjoy the marina, quaint shops, scrumptious restaurants and bars, 4 cozy hometown coffee shops, 2 parks that jut out into the lake and a one-mile breakwater walk out to our very unique pillared lighthouse. For those who love outdoor activities, you won't be disappointed. The Ozaukee Interurban Bike Trail is one block away, Pirate's Hollow Outdoor Water Park is one block, 5 minute walk to two Lake Michigan beaches (the South Beach has a kayak/canoe launch), hiking galore including Sauk Creek Nature Preserve - 5 minute walk, Lion's Den Gorge Nature Preserve - 8 minutes by car, 379 acre Riveredge Nature Center - 15 minutes by car, and, our personal favorite, Harrington Beach State Park (complete with historic remains of a Lime Quarry Town alongside Lake Michigan and inland quarry lake with waterfalls) is 15 minutes by car. Many historic cities are within a half hour drive and await your exploration. Cedarburg (15 minutes), Milwaukee (25 minutes) and Sheboygan and Kohler (30 minutes) have a full schedule of events and attractions all year round including Summer Fest, Kohler Design Center, and Kohler Art Center. Walking is your first best option as you’ll be just 4 blocks from all the action downtown. Uber and Lyft are available as well. I value your health and mine, therefore I use only non-toxic cleaners. I offer organic coffee (whole bean coffee with a grinder and French Press) and tea.
