Villa Ionia is one of the finest homes on the entire West coast of Corfu offering what are undoubtedly amongst the most beautiful views of any home on the island. By evening the sunsets seen from every terrace and every room, transform the local islands to silhouettes, never the same on any two nights. Ionia is truly unique - there are no other rental villas that offer the combination of exquisite sea, sunset and local island views, 4 double en-suite bedrooms (all with wonderful sea views) and un-overlooked privacy. The house occupies a truly enviable position amidst 1.5 acres of tranquil olive grove clad and cypress pine forested hillside, yet the village resort of Arillas is just a few minutes drive away or a pleasurable walk. By day, or evening lunch or dine around the pool, or at one of the lovely authentic family run tavernas on the beachfront, in one of the country lanes behind or in the pretty villages in the hills just a few minutes drive away. Villa Ionia is best suited to independent travellers and in that respect we wanted to create a home that offers the comforts and facilities expected in a villa, but in a location that is best described as being the real Greece, rather than a tourist version of it. To that end, we chose Arrilas, away from the madding crowds of the more touristic East coast and far enough away from other busier resorts. In Arillas there are no hoards of rowdy BBQ boat day trippers flooding the tavernas and beaches and no nightclubs. The rustic and peaceful location of the house opens to numerous walks through several local villages, along the coastline, through olive groves, meandering country tracks or cliff-top footpaths. On the seafront a small selection of water sports are available as is boat hire and the beach itself, awarded the coveted EU Blue Flag, is of fine golden sand and the incredibly clear water is shallow making it ideal for children. For its size ( about 200 square meters - 2500 square feet plus exterior covered living areas ) Villa Ionia is also one of the most spacious homes on the island. It was designed to maximise space and light - from its 60 square metre open plan lounge kitchen dinning room to the wonderful beamed and vaulted ceilings in the first floor bedrooms which all have very large balconies, and the wall to wall glass doors and window sections in the sea facing wall of the lounge. Naturally Villa Ionia is equipped with all essential modern facilities including air-conditioning throughout, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, Ascaso professional coffee machine, Duilitt toasting machine. In fact we supply almost everything including selection of fine teas and coffee's throughout your stay. Wi Fi internet access and air-conditioning are of course included along with a host of other items including a large fat screen television and good selection of DVDs Blu Ray films and books. Of course for those requiring additional services such as a cook, nanny, masseuse, personal assistant, fitness trainer, yoga or tai chi instruction, car hire, chauffeur, boat rental - skippered or bare boat charter or even a personal guide, these can be arranged (subject to availability and relevant fees) Outdoor living at Villa Ionia is heaven: An exterior tile covered lounge with a beautiful stone coffee table. an exterior covered dinning area with seating for 12 around a statement stone and marble table, parasols and 10 sun loungers. A recently constructed poolside terrace extension finished in African hardwood decking. Across the shallow end of the swimming pool, full width steps were incorporated into the design, making it a great place to sit with a cool drink next to a beautiful mature manicured olive tree that sits at the corner of the pool.
