This is an organic property. Power is from solar panels and is stored in batteries for continuous supply. Rain water is harvested, there is a no-water composting toilet in the unit. The large living area has a kitchenette and bathroom. Extra cooking appliances supplied. The sleeping pod is separate. A total area of 55 sq.m. Large deck and paved area and an outdoor bath add the necessary finishing touches for your BBQ and star gazing. Views include our Maunga Taranaki, a flock of Indian Runner Ducks, Chinese Silkie Chickens, the orchards and vege gardens plus the artist's dye gardens. This is a peaceful, creative, nature centred place for restoration and recharging. Freedom to explore the garden with its young food forest and vege beds. Enjoy private patio for the outdoor bath with mountain views Creative explorations either environmental or artistic can be facilitated by the resident artist. Arrangements can be made for these individually. The host will service the unit every day and will attend to the poultry at least twice daily. Otherwise the space is discrete from the main house. We are on the new Opunake Loop Trail. Ideal for biking or walking. This takes in river, lake and coastal parts of beautiful Opunake. We are straight across the road from Middleton Bay which has a boat ramp and is used for walking, swimming, fishing, harvesting. Maunga Taranaki is visible from the accommodation. There are great cafes, pubs and eateries in Opunake. There is also an amazing Open Artist Studio and Gallery Loop. Tramping on Maunga Taranaki is within an easy drive. We are accessed by The Surf Highway 45 so ideal place to be based for a surfing adventure. Connector Bus does a circuit around the mountain including Hawera and New Plymouth. Easy walking in the township of Opunake which is also ideal for mobility scooters and bikes. Boats can be launched by arrangement from Middleton's Bay boat ramp or from the public ramp at Main Beach. @Taradise is an extremely good place to sleep - lulled off by the ocean. This is a rural site in the urban setting of Opunake township. I acre of garden surrounds the accomodation with lots of birdlife and big skies
