Suits couple for a getaway or if you are attending a local function or wedding in the Macedon Ranges. Set in the heart of Mt Macedon village with the Trading Post Cafe almost next door. Spacious and fully renovated period cottage with stunning mature garden setting. Enjoy a complementary bottle of wine, snacks and breakfast groceries to help make your stay more relaxing. The decor is bright and contemporary with some pretty period features. The sitting area includes a sofa and arm chair, TV and iPod docking station and a wood burning stove to keep you warm and create a cosy atmosphere. There is also electric heating in all rooms and air conditioning for the warmer summer months. There is a dining table with 2 seats and there is a desk and chair if you need to do some work or check your emails. There is a queen sized bed with luxury linen and electric blankets. The cottage has a walk in robe and elegant period style bathroom with claw foot bath, free standing shower and ample high quality towels provided. Cook a full gourmet meal with local produce, have an easy breakfast with provisions provided or just make a cup of tea or gourmet coffee in the fully equiped, light filled kitchen. Appliances include oven and cooktop, espresso coffee machine, microwave and fridge as well as designer homewares and complementary tea and coffee. Nandi Cottage is set in the magnificent ground of "Nandi", with extensive, historic gardens established in the 1870's. Have a game of croquet on the manicured croquet lawn next to the cottage, sit outside for lunch and a cool drink, or let us know and you are welcome to explore all the grounds, including forest trails and the well stocked vegetable gardens. We are usually around Nandi with our 2 friendly golden retrievers. We won't bother you during your stay and you are assured full privacy. However, if you need us or want advice about the cottage facilities, the local area or a restaurant recommendation - we'd love to help! Guests will always be provided with a mobile number if urgent contact is needed. Mountain village atmosphere with the Mt Macedon Trading Post General Store & Cafe next door, and the cozy Mt Macedon Pub only a few steps away. Other great dining options with local produce at Macedon and Barringo (7 mins drive). Walk around to Mt Towrong Winery on the weekend and enjoy their great Italian wines and an antipasto platter. Numerous great walks starting from the front door or in the wider Macedon Ranges National Park. The famous Hanging Rock is a relaxing 15 mins drive. Superb wineries and gourmet food producers are in the area. A farmers market is on most Saturdays in one of the local towns. You'll need your own car to get here (50 min from Bolte Bridge Melb) but once you're here you can go everywhere on foot if you choose... Accom and Bedding This is a cottage/studio with only one queen sized bed. It is therefore not suited to families or groups. Heating and Cooling The cottage is well heated with electric wall panel heaters, a wood burning stove plus a ceiling and wall heater in the bathroom. Nandi Cottage also has air conditioning for the warm summer months. Fire Season During the warmer months (Oct-April) the Macedon Ranges is classified as a significantly bushfire prone area and the safety of our guests is a great priority. All guests visiting during this periods are advised to download the VicEmergency App, which is the official Govt App providing warnings and information. Please take great care and do not take risks. Our local safe place is at Tony Clarke Recreation Reserve, Waterfalls Rd, Macedon, just a couple of km away. If we are required to cancel your booking due to extreme fire risk or CODE RED days we will provide a full refund.
