Wild Valley Hostel Villa Edera private rooms

Only 20 minutes from Locarno, this stunning 19th century villa provides the perfect location to get away from it all with like-minded backpackers. Enjoy the great views of Italy from the shade of a palm tree on our beautiful lawn. Fantastic hiking and swimming opportunities abound! And free public transportation throughout Ticino is included in the price, until midnight of your check-out date! The Villa is also available for weddings, seminars, and other exclusive uses for 1'000 CHF/night. The hostel contains 4 private rooms with shared bath: 2 single rooms (55 CHF per room per night) and 2 double rooms (80 CHF per room per night). Additionally, there are dorm rooms with 1, 3, 4 or 5 bunk beds, for a total of 26 dorm beds (30 CHF per bed). Guests have access to a shared kitchen, dining room, lounge, and amazing garden with views of Italy. I also manage the tourism Info Point next to the hostel, so I can provide lots of information to all guests. I'm available daily from 9 to 17h00. The entire valley is simply stunning, and it was to be the heart of Switzerland's second ever national park. Unfortunately the park project was rejected by less than 100 votes, but the park exists anyway in all but name! Views from the hostel are unforgettable. Our guests get free public transport (Ticino Ticket), with buses running every few hours. Our bus stop is called Auressio Paese and is less only 50 meters from our door! Guests can also rent public e-bikes to use in the entire valley and all the way to Locarno. If you arrive by car, we have unlimited free parking on the road below the villa. Driving in Onsernone Due to our unique road, driving in our valley involves some rules and habits that you may be unfamiliar with. In order to ensure your safety, we suggest you read the following information. There is nowhere to overtake a car. Therefore, if you have a car behind you, please quickly put your blinker on and pull over so that it can pass you. Locals drive much more quickly and they will greatly appreciate the gesture from tourists! You will be safe if you stay as far to the right as possible on every turn. Be careful of cyclists cutting turns! You may park anywhere as long as: -You do not block the buses and trucks. If a vehicle’s route is blocked, you will hear their horn sound repeatedly as they wait for the vehicle owner to move. -You do not block vision on turns -You do not park in places with signs saying they are private or that parking is not allowed -If in doubt, ask a local You will often need to wait for a car to pass in the opposite direction, or for another car to back up, or you may need to back up yourself. When someone else waits or backs up for you, please wave your hand to say “thanks”. If you have trouble backing up, you may ask the other person for assistance. Do not use your horn in the villages! Fahren im Onsernonetal Aufgrund unserer engen Straße bedingt das Fahren in unserem Tal, das Befolgen einiger Regeln und Gewohnheiten, die Ihnen vielleicht noch nicht bekannt sind. Um Ihre Sicherheit zu gewährleisten, empfehlen wir Ihnen folgende Informationen zu beherzigen: Es gibt keinen spezifischen Ort, an dem man leicht überholen kann. Wenn Sie also ein Auto hinter sich haben, setzen Sie bitte baldmöglichst Ihren Blinker auf rechts und halten Sie an einer geeigneten Stelle an, damit das Auto an Ihnen vorbeifahren kann. Die Einheimischen gelangen so rechtzeitig zur Arbeit und werden Ihre Geste sehr zu schätzen wissen! Halten Sie sich in jeder Kurve so weit wie möglich am rechten Strassenrand. Achten Sie auf entgegenkommende Radfahrer; sie könnten gerade die Kurve schneiden! Sie können im Tal überall parken, solange Sie einige Regeln einhalten: -Ihr Fahrzeug darf Busse und breite Lastwagen nicht in der Durchfahrt behindern. -Wenn die Strasse blockiert ist, hören Sie wiederholt die Lastwagen-Hupe; der Falsch-Parker wird damit aufgefordert die Durchfahrt sofort zu ermöglichen! -In den Kurven darf ihr Fahrzeug die Sicht nach vorne nicht behindern, parken sie nie innerhalb einer Kurve. -Parkieren Sie nicht an Orten die mit Privat-Schildern gekennzeichnet sind oder wo das Parkieren allgemein verboten ist. -Im Zweifelsfall fragen Sie einen Einheimischen. Sie werden manchmal warten müssen, bis ein Auto in der entgegengesetzten Richtung vorbei gefahren ist oder bis ein anderes Auto ein Rückwärts-Manöver ausgeführt hat. Ein Winken mit der Hand wird als Zeichen der Dankbarkeit sehr geschätzt! Bitten sie um Hilfe, falls Sie das von Ihnen erwartete Manöver nicht selbst ausführen können, die Einheimischen sind es gewohnt zu helfen. Bitte unterlassen sie das Hupen im Dorfkern! Conduire dans la Valle Onsernone En raison de notre route unique, la conduite dans notre vallée implique certaines règles et habitudes avec lesquelles vous n'êtes peut-être pas familier. Pour assurer votre sécurité, nous vous suggérons de lire les informations suivantes. Il n'y a nulle part où doubler une voiture. Par conséquent, si vous avez une voiture derrière vous, veuillez rapidement poser votre clignotant et vous mettre à côté de la route pour qu’elle puisse vous doubler. Les locaux conduisent beaucoup plus vite et ils apprécieront grandement le geste des touristes! Vous serez en sécurité si vous restez le plus à droite possible à chaque virage. Attention aux cyclistes qui coupent les virages! Vous pouvez vous garer n'importe où pourvu que: -Vous ne bloquez pas les bus et les camions. Si la route d’un véhicule est bloquée, vous entendez le klaxon à plusieurs reprises alors qu’ils attendent que le propriétaire du véhicule se déplace. -Vous ne bloquez pas la vision sur les virages -Vous ne vous garez pas dans des endroits avec des panneaux indiquant qu'ils sont privés ou que le stationnement n'est pas autorisé -En cas de doute, demandez à un local Vous devrez souvent attendre qu'une voiture passe dans la direction opposée, ou qu'une autre voiture recule, ou vous devrez peut-être reculer. Lorsque quelqu'un d'autre vous attend, ou se recule pour vous, saluez avec votre main pour dire «merci». Si vous rencontrez des difficultés lors de la conduite en marche arrière, vous pouvez demander de l'aide à l'autre conducteur. N'utilisez pas votre klaxon dans les villages! We do not serve food, and there is no shop in the village. Guests can use the lovely restaurant next door, or cook meals in our wonderful kitchen. There is a shop in the next village, Loco, 3km up the road. The hostel has neighbors on all sides, and their tranquility must be respected, especially after 22h00. If you want to party, it's better to book something in Locarno. We have towels available for 2 CHF extra.
