Cosy listed barn in peaceful country village.
Beautiful grade 2 listed barn conversion with unique historical features. Mezzanine double bedroom overlooking a large open vaulted ceiling living space. Set in tranquil mature gardens & situated next to the owner's cottage & the historic Saxon village church with a lovely pub serving lunch and evening meals Tues- Sun a 5 minute walk away. We are 30 mins from Bicester Village, Silverstone, Stowe House, Waddesdon Manor, Claydon House, The Ridgeway, The Chilterns, Ascott House & Bletchley Park. We love our quirky barn and hope you will too but guests may need to take care as the beams in the bedroom are quite low when entering and leaving the mezzanine area. Whilst we provide a full size fridge, toaster, microwave, tea and coffee making facilities there is no dedicated cooking area in the barn. We provide a range of cereals, yoghurts, bread, butter and jams for breakfast (no cooked breakfast provided) and the lovely village pub is a 5 min walk away, open Tues - Sun for lunch and dinner. Winslow is a 5 minute drive away and has shops, pubs and takeaways whilst Buckingham is 12 minutes away with even more amenities on offer. We have a large wildlife pond in the garden which you are welcome to visit, it has a big colony of Great Crested Newts in it which are protected by law, they are often visible along with dragonflies, damselflies, butterflies and bees in the wildlife meadow. We have a lot of mature trees teaming with bird life and many visitors to the garden including deer, hedgehogs, bats and owls. We have a large shared drive with ample off street parking. We live in the cottage next door but the gardens are separated by a hawthorn hedge and we will not disturb you at all unless you require any assistance. We do share a driveway but it has ample parking space and the accommodation entrance is a good way from our cottage. We work from home so there should always be someone around if you require help whilst completely respecting your privacy. We think that our village is really special as it is so quiet and peaceful. We live right next door to the 14th century church and there are lots of lovely areas to cycle and walk to explore the equally pretty Buckinghamshire villages around about. We have at least four National Trust properties within 20 mins drive of the village any of which are well worth a visit during your stay. We are a rural village and a car or bike is very useful although we are on the bus route to both Aylesbury and Milton Keynes.
