The second option is by taking a bus to Piazzale Roma, then a vaporetto number 4.2 or 5.2 going to Fondamente Nove, then crossing the bridge to Fondamente Nove (on your right) to BURANO - LINEA 12 (at night it becomes LINEA NOTTURNO LAGUNA NORD) (it will take about 35 minutes to get to Burano). b) If arriving at the VENEZIA-SANTA LUCIA train station, you must follow these instructions: Once you leave the station while looking at the lagoon of VENEZIA - CANAL GRANDE, you have to go left for about 100 meters along the Canal and you will see a bridge (Ponte degli Scalzi), to the left of the bridge there is the Vaporetto stop number 4.2 and 5.2 going to Fondamente Nove, once at Fondamente Nove, then crossing the bridge to Fondamente Nove (on your right) to BURANO - LINEA 12 (at night it becomes LINEA NOTTURNO LAGUNA NORD) (it will take about 35 minutes to get to Burano). Various tips: a) each time before taking the Vaporetto, it is always better to ask where it is headed to. b) another important thing before you start your holiday in Venice is to view the "Key Rates" then choose and buy the best for you according to your needs (transportation within Venice and its islands - MURANO - BURANO, visits to museums, etc), because a single trip in VAPORETTO costs around €6.50. c) I also recommend that when you're in BURANO, you go to 2 restaurants with good quality/price, these are very near my house, both near the brick bridge. d) If you are in Piazza San Marco and would like to go back to BURANO (and vice versa), you have to go towards the lagoon after the Doge's Palace (to the left) continue on the fondamenta and stop at S. MARCO - SAN ZACCARIA – PIETA’, (very close to the Hotel METROPOLE) from here the VAPORETTO will leave for LIDO - PUNTA SABBIONI (once in Punta Sabbioni, change to TREPORTI - BURANO (it will take about 70 minutes in total) - the number of the line is - LINEA 14 - 15. ) How to get to the island of Burano: a) If arriving by plane from MARCO POLO-VENICE Airport, you have 2 options: the first is to take the VAPORETTO - BLU LINE in the direction of ALILAGUNA, getting off at Fondamente Nove, cross the Fondamente Nove bridge of to your right and take the BURANO - LINE 12 (at night it becomes LINEA NOTTURNO LAGUNA NORD). Once at Fondamente Nove, cross the Fondamente Nove bridge (on your right) and take BURANO-12 LINE (at night it becomes LAGUNA NORD NIGHT LINE). It will take about 35 minutes to get to Burano. 2) Once you get to BURANO: Exiting the VAPORETTO, immediately turn left, follow the road, on the left hand side. You will come upon a wooden bridge; cross the bridge and take the second street on your left. At the end of this street, there is a red house at number 521/23. You're there. Various tips: a) Before taking the vaporetto, it is always best to ask where it is headed to. b) Another important thing: a single VAPORETTO ride costs about €6.50. Therefore, coming Venice, it is best to look up ticket options for public transportation ("Principali Tariffe"), and choose the best for you, according to your needs (transportation within Venice and to the islands of MURANO and BURANO, visiting museums, etc.). c) I also recommend that when you're in BURANO, go to two restaurants very near my house near the brick bridge that offer good quality and prices. d) If you are in Piazza San Marco and want to go back to BURANO (or vice versa), you have to go towards the lagoon after the Doge's Palace (to the left), continue until you get to the stop, S.
