Our guests all say what a great base this is for exploring North Wales. Guests comment on how at home and relaxed they feel in our comfy, well equipped and warm holiday cottage. We welcome well behaved pets and many of our visitors are dog owners who appreciate our enclosed back garden and the local walks. We are in a quiet country spot with a fantastic view but near a local shop and only 10 minutes away from the coast and the A55, the main route to all the many, many attractions you'll find. The cottage is in the old part of the village with an uninterrupted view over the valley. This is the view from the larger bedroom upstairs and so you can lie in bed looking at the countryside - very peaceful. This large bedroom has a double bed and also a single with another single underneath that can be set up for you on request - the spare single has a proper base and mattress. There are three bedside cabinets with bedside lights, a wardrobe, mirror and chest of drawers. Plenty of space. The bedroom to the back overlooks the back garden but also the trees in the field behind. This has a double bed, bedside lamps and cabinets, with a wardrobe, chest of drawers and mirror. The bathroom has a bath, electric shower over the bath and a folding shower screen, toilet and pedestal washbasin. Hand soap and shampoo are provided as well as plenty of towels. Downstairs, the living room has two comfy sofas, one a three seater and the other a two seater. There are two reading lamps, with uplighters as well as the overhead lights so the level of light can be adjusted to taste. There is an additional chair by the window, a TV, bookcases with a selection of books and dvds and an electric fire if extra heating is needed but the overall central heating temperature can be regulated to whatever you find comfortable. The kitchen has everything you're likely to need in terms of crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and pans, it is generally regarded as well-equipped. There is a dishwasher, microwave and fridge. There's a small freezer in the separate utility room. There is an extendable dining table with six chairs. Overall, it is cottage-y kitchen in feel but has everything to hand. The kitchen leads on to two other rooms: a downstairs cloakroom with space to hang coats and a loo and basin with hand soap provided. Plus a small conservatory leading to the utility room with washing machine, sink and small freezer. From the conservatory the enclosed back garden can be accessed. The area is courtyard in style because we welcome dogs and they can mooch about without any worries about disrupting the planting! In front and back gardens there are tables and chairs so you can sit out and enjoy the sun wherever it happens to be (though sun cannot be guaranteed in Wales unfortunately) Car Parking - on a space directly outside the front garden, off the road but by it. Enough for two small cars if necessary but better for one. Key collection details are by arrangement - in many cases I can welcome you myself but if this is not possible then we can arrange when/how you can access a key. Though we're in a small village it is very close to the towns of Old Colwyn, Colwyn Bay and, with its little harbour, Rhos on Sea also, a bit further away, Llandudno with its pier. These have a variety of supermarkets, coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and walks along the promenades. Most beaches are dog friendly. Porth Eirias, approx 12 minutes away, has sailing activities and sections of the North Wales Coastal Path are a short drive away. Whatever your interests, there is plenty to do, whether child or adult - this is just a short list: Welsh Mountain Zoo, Surf Snowdonia, Zip World, Snowdon and its Mountain Railway, the historic towns and castles of Conwy, Rhuddlan, Caernarfon, as well as adventure activities such as kayaking, climbing and hillwalking. At the end of a busy day our holiday is a quiet and restful place to wind down and enjoy the view. A car is important if you are to get the most out of your visit to North Wales. We do have local bus services near us which will take you to the nearby towns and railway stations but a car will give you much more flexibility as to what you can see and do.
