Les Cypres with private swimming pool and view

Les Cyprès is a large modern villa, homely and rather rustic, in the Southern Cevennes a kilometre from the village of Bréau and 7 kms from Le Vigan It is south facing with a sun terrace , a large partly terraced garden with cypress trees, oleanders and lavender, a patio and a beautiful pool ,all with magnificent views all around. THE SPACE On the ground floor there is a large main living area with a kitchen, a dining area for 10 and comfortable seating for all. Doors lead out on to the terrace which also has a table for 10 and a sunscrean. There is a bedroom with 2 singles, a bathroom with bath and shower ,a separate toilet and a utility room. From the terrace are stone steps going down to the garden and pool and the lower ground floor. On the first floor, there are 1 double bedroom and two room with 2 singles each and a bathroom with shower and toilet. On the lower ground floor, there is a large double bedroom leading out on to a lower terrace with a plancha and the garden. There also is a bathroom en suite. Access is via the stone stairs from the terrace. The house can accommodate up to 10 people. You then have 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. PLEASE NOTE: Outside the high season, if desired, the house can also be rented for 7 or fewer people (is already calculated ). You then rent the house with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms at a reduced price . The lower ground floor is then closed. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about this. The entire house is accessible to guests with the exception of storage in the basement. If rented for 7 or less then the lower ground floor is not available. If you want to use this floor also then the price is minimum for 8 guests. Our co-hosts Ingeborg and Hans live nearby and are available by phone and deal with possible problems and questions. They speak English, French,German… as well as Dutch They are always available by phone (number after reservation) There are numerous well sign-posted walks locally and also one to the mountains above. There is a beautiful river with beach and swimming 500 meters away and many other attractions both in the immediate vicinity or within short drives. Le Vigan is an attractive old town with a number of cafes and restaurants, a great Saturday market and a smaller one on Tuesdays. There is a classical music festival with marvelous concerts in July and August. Le Vigan has a Super U supermarket, a Lidl and there is an Intermarché supermarket just 10 minutes drive from the house. Bréau has a cafe and bakery and a summer Sunday market with local products. There is beautiful river swimming and a cafe at Avèze just 4 kilometres away. There are caves and waterfalls to visit as well as the remarkable Cirques de Navacelles . There is horse riding in the area, as well as , on the way to the Cirque de Navacell about 12 kms away there is no the Parcours d’Aventure - a wooded adventure and climbing park (highly recommended by the owners’ families). Further away, south of Ganges, there is kayaking and a memorable waterfall and river beach at St Laurent-de-Minier. Public transportation is available at Le Vigan to Montpellier,Ales and Nimes for only €1,60. Whilst the villa is suitable for families, parents have to take care of their small children . There is a stairgate at the terrace to prevent small children from being able to go down the stone steps or the road. There are railings around the east side of the pool which has a drop on to the terrace below. It is not practical to completely enclose the pool so there is a pool alarm as required by French law. We would welcome pets and you will have the benefit of a visit from Poppy, our neighbour Frances’s small dog, who likes to welcome visitors. The pool is closed from end of September up to the beginning of May. In this period the prices are of course lower.
