Historical house in the heart of medieval village
Treat yourself to a unique and memorable stay in the spectacular Palazzo Stradivari. In the warm season, that is from March to October, you can enjoy a large panoramic garden where to have lunch and relax during the hottest hours sheltered from traffic and tourists. The surrounding area offers numerous trails amid the scenic countryside of the famous Colli Piacentini hills where the beauty of the landscape merges with the passion for gastronomy and history. The house has two bedrooms, both equipped with a double and a single bed. Common areas are composed of a dining room, a lounge with television and a small reading room. The bathroom has a bathtub equipped also with a shower. The home kit is available to guests for use. We only ask to possibly leave things as you found them. The kitchen overlooks the garden and in summer turns into an "en plein air" dining room. Smoking is not allowed in the house but it is, of course, possible to do it in the garden or in the courtyard on the opposite side. For those with longer stays in the program, it is available, the home washing machine or you can ask our housekeeper for laundries and cleanings in general. The house is entirely at your disposal and will do our best to make you feel at ease. You can count on our support both for advice on what to do and where to eat as well as for addressing any unforeseen problems. A few notes about Castell'Arquato and surroundings. The locals are friendly and generally well disposed towards strangers. For lovers of trekking and cycling the Apennines hills offer numerous routes and beautiful scenery where the campaign punctuated by farms, small towns and trattorias are integrated into a harmonious whole. Short-haul trips include the Veleia Roman archaeological site, the fortified village of Vigoleno, the castle of Scipio, Salsomaggiore Terme and, for those who feel nostalgia for shopping, theFidenza Village Outlet. Just beyond it is easily accessible the beautiful and rich city of Parma, the wonderful valley of Trebbia river or the impressive castle of Bardi. Mountain lovers may approach the mountain peaks Lama (1348 mt) and Menegosa (1365 m) or may enjoy strolling leisurely along the Prato Barbieri pastures. During the year, alternate numerous festivals and themed parties. In September there is the historical re-enactment "relive the Middle Ages" that in recent years has become an international event in which riders in helmets and armor from all over Europe camp on the banks of the Arda river and challenge each other to duels and reconstructions of battles. On weekdays you can park along the road below the house. Public holidays, between 9 and 18, must turn to more distant parking sites outside of the pedestrian area. Unfortunately, the entrance is on a scale quite steep, dangerous for people with disabilities for whom it is essential the presence of a robust companion.
