The barn is currently the only guest accommodation. It is private and located at the rear of the property. The space and facilities are all yours, however we do host casual camping guests on the property also from time to time (especially in peak holiday seasons) You may bump into each other during your stay. 1 queen bed in the “Bovine” room and 1 double bed in the “Hamlet” room. The comfy couch in the lounge also folds out to a bed. There is a TV supplied for streaming only. It has a HDMI cord and a (Hidden by Airbnb) chrome cast. *There is no wifi access during your stay. You can access your own wifi from your devices as there is network coverage. You can chill out in the Barn and do absolutely nothing or you can participate in the farm activities, take a walk, swim and kayak. The choice is 100% yours! While we try and make your stay as peaceful and quiet as possible- It is a farm. You will hear animals and our quad bike moving around the grounds from time to time. It is especially noisy in the paddocks when we feed the animals at around 7am. It can also get very muddy in wet weather. Bring your winter woolies in winter and you swimming trunks in summer. The kitchen is stocked with all you need to cook. General Crockery, cutlery, utensils, glasses, cups etc as well as a upright gas stove, kettle, toaster, microwave and slow cooker. Breakfast of various breads for toast, and basic cereal are supplied along with milk and juice, tea, coffee and sugar. There are also various jams and spreads. Bring some bacon and you can collect fresh eggs to fry up! The bathroom has a shower, toilet and vanity that is basic but clean. Unfortunately there is no bath. **Bath towels, washers, body wash, shampoo and conditioner are all supplied** PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN BEACH TOWELS FOR SWIMMING . The deck separating the bedrooms from the bathroom and kitchen is rustic and provides a good spot to eat meals in summer. You can sit here and watch the glorious sunsets Outside there is a small bbq to cook on as well as some comfy chairs to sit around your own little fire pit and watch the world go by. Guests have access to wander and explore the entire farm property. Explore the creek that runs along the whole rear of the property. Take a walk and see if you find a platypus. Paddle down the creek in our complimentary kayaks Enjoy lunch under the shade of the mango trees in our community seating area equipped with hammocks, table and chairs Say “hi” to all our farm animals at your own leisure. You can pat them in their pens and paddocks, but for a closer look or even a cuddle please arrange with us first There is a large community fire area called “the corral” that seats about 16 people. Weather permitting we can light this for you to have a drink, listen to some music and you can have a yarn with us or other guests. If you play guitar, you must play! Our farmhouse home is the only space that is restricted for our privacy . It is fully fenced and signed for your convenience We are available to give you the full farm experience and interact with you as much or as little as you like. We have a farm mobile to contact us for supplies or in the event of an emergency. The number is located in the barn and other venues around the farm. It you have kids, We go out of our way to make it special for them. Kandanga is a small country town. We have a pub, local store with petrol, Post office, Swimming pool, Football field , Bowls club , Coffee shop, Hairdresser and Playground. Imbil is only a 10 minute drive and is a buzz on the weekends. They have a great little bakery where you have to queue to grab a pastry. There is a chemist, hardware, fishing shop, real estate, coffee shop, pub, friendly grocer and more. Amamoor state forest - Home of the Gympie music muster is about a 20 min drive. We are located in the gorgeous Mary Valley and there is so much to see and do. We supply a guide book in the barn with more detailed things to do in Gympie and the Mary valley. You can walk around the farm easily, but you can drive down to the creek or the weir if you prefer or have a lot of equipment to carry. We welcome dogs as long as they are behaved. We understand that dogs are dogs and will bark occasionally. They just need to be on a lead when walking around the farm. We have 2 Border collies on the farm. There is a per fee of $5 so please add to your booking. This will also alert us to their presence. It is extremely hot in the summer months October to January and there in no air con. We do supply fans in summer, but if you don’t like the heat, maybe consider your visit in the cooler months. On the flip side in is very cold in winter. June to August. The pot belly stove will keep you warm in the lounge room and we supply extra blankets in winter. For full transparency- the barn is an old building on a farm. It is clean and tidy, but it is a farm. There are the occasional spiders and spiders webs. The gardens are not immaculate, the deck and building are secure and weather proof, BUT RUSTIC. It is a great experience and a value for money stay, but it is not a hotel or resort and priced accordingly for 4 guests.
