La Peyrolaise is at the door of the beautiful natural reserve of the Gorges de l'Ardèche. The village of Saint-Martin d'Ardèche, which marks the end of the canyon, is only 1.5 km away. This is the starting point for hikes and canoe / kayak expeditions as well as places for swimming in the gorges. You can discover these on your own or choose to take advantage of the skills of nature guides approved by the Syndicate of management of the Gorges of the Ardèche who will reveal the least secrets to you ... Saint-Martin is also, throughout the summer, a place for idleness, celebration and conviviality (tourist office, nightclubs, balls, restaurants, open-air cinema, markets, free communal fitness area, various activities. ..). All these products are available directly from producers, in Saint-Julien de Peyrolas itself or in the surrounding villages. The original natural cave, discovered in 1994, listed in 2014 as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is exceptional because it is unique in the world. It houses drawings dating back 35,000 years, the oldest ever discovered so far in an ornate cave. The man of Cro Magnon represented prehistoric beasts there, including a good number of wild beasts never seen elsewhere. Its magnificent reproduction and its furnished discovery spaces are to be discovered. In summer, remember to book your entrance tickets in advance. - the crocodile farm, unique in Europe, in Pierrelatte, is only 17 km away. More than 300 saurians and many other exotic animals in a tropical greenhouse of 8000 m2 await you. You will experience a certain change of scenery. - the many ancient or medieval buildings (between 30 minutes and 1 hour drive): Arc de Triomphe and Roman amphitheater of Orange, Pont du Gard, oppidum of Laudun L'Ardoise, Palais des Papes and the Pont in Avignon etc. - natural curiosities such as the resurgence of the La Sorgue river at Fontaine de Vaucluse located 85 km away (5th strongest phenomenon of its kind in the world). - the maritime environment: beaches of the Mediterranean Sea at 1 h 30 (La Grande Motte, Grau du Roi, Saintes Maries de la Mer), the Camargue (with its exceptional natural environment: its horses, bulls and flamingos particularly at the Pont de Gau ornithological park in Saintes Marie de la Mer ...).
