Tranquil village living, near Volterra in Tuscany

The condominium itself is located within the tranquil village of Orciatico, which is some 300m above sea level and overlooks the valley with spectacular views from the front garden and upper floor balcony. On the upper floor there is a master bedroom with its own balcony and stunning views over the valley. (I would say that of course) To the rear there is a double bedroom with twin beds and balcony. A bathroom with bath, shower, WC, bidet and wash hand basin completes the upper floor. The ground floor comprises a spacious lounge, and a dining/kitchen both rooms access external gardens where alfresco dining can take place if desired. The kitchen includes gas hob, electric oven and grill, washing machine, fridge/freezer, and microwave. A ground floor shower room complete with whb and wc completes the ground floor. The kitchen is simple and rustic in appearance, with dining table space. The rear door opens on to a terrace and garden where it is possible to dine should this be your choice. The lounge opens onto a covered terrace area then onto the main garden area which is landscaped for relaxation. This terrace is surrounded by a selection of jasmine plants which in the evening provide a range of scents. The property is part of a recently built condominium which has its own pool for use by owners and residents only. Presently there are some pool use restrictions as a consequence of the current pandemic, and we would be obliged if these are respected. There is car parking on the adjacent street to the rear of the property as well as dedicated private parking for one car within the grounds of the Condominium. The house sleeps a maximum of 4 adults. The house is cleaned using approved products and methodologies that have been designed to reduce risk of COvid19 transmission. Our house location is a good central base for visiting Volterra, (20min) San Gimignano, (45min) Siena (60min), Pisa (38min - there are speed cameras on the road), Florence, (60min) Lucca (50min - getting lost can be fun) and the coast (60min) and is located within easy drives to the major tourist attractions of western Tuscany (San Vincenzo, Bolgerhi and the like) as access to the coast is within 50 minutes driving time. Volterra, the nearest 'main town' and is a 20 minutes drive. This town is a microcosm of history for those seeking to explore. This city affords a rare glimpse of Italian history, ranging from early Etruscan relics through Roman times, with passing references to the renaissance including the Medici occupation to the present day and has appeared in the recent Hollywood produced 'Twilight' films. The nearby village of Lajatico, with its Teatro de Silenzio, (approx 7 minutes drive) contains shops and supermarkets. Also there are restaurants in the village and going further afield (12minutes drive) there are more restaurants and bars to enjoy. For those seeking the simple pleasure in life such as eating and wine tasting both Volterra and its hinterland offers a wide range of restaurants and bars to suit everyone's taste.
