You are invited to ‘amble a while’ in our self-contained studio apartment overlooking the ever changing and often breathtaking vistas offered by the Tamar River. Situated on an acre of land surrounded by vineyards in Rosevears on the Tamar Valley Wine Route it is easy to forget we are only 15 minutes from Launceston, 5 minutes from Legana shopping centre, 2 km to the historic Rosevears Tavern and next door to Strathlynn Wine & Function Centre. Launceston airport an easy 30 mins drive. Amble’a’While is perfect for a romantic getaway, whilst equally suitable as a base for exploring the Tamar Valley and all it has to offer. Whether for pleasure or business we are certain your stay at Amble’a’While will be just what you need. Pop in for a quick visit you may, although like us when we first visited, you may wish you could amble’a’while longer. Our room price includes breakfast provisions each morning, FREE WiFi and safe parking for your vehicle. There are no additional costs. Amble’a’While is a spacious self-contained studio apartment adjoining our home, with your own secure private entry. Enjoy a great nights sleep in a luxurious king size bed which can be converted to twin beds if you require (please let us know when you book). A generous built-in wardrobe is all yours, with good hanging space and drawers. There is a well-equipped kitchenette with modern 2-burner induction cooktop, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, electric kettle and Nespresso coffee machine. All the basics you need to enjoy your stay are on hand (coffee pods, instant coffee, tea, sugar, milk, salt & pepper etc) and of course plenty of crockery, cooking utensils etc. TRUST US, we’ve stayed in plenty of accommodation over the years and know how frustrating it is trying to slice cheese with a wooden spoon or drink that lovely bottle of wine you purchased out of the single plastic cup supplied! The lounge/dining area is well equipped with a comfortable 3 seater couch (which is a sofa-bed, so please ask if you feel the need) and a large screen TV with plenty of input options if you want to avail yourselves of more than Free-to-Air TV or use of the DVD player on hand. A good size dining table will ensure you can enjoy a comfortable meal. You have your very own private ensuite with toilet, shower, wash basin and laundry sink, as well as a front loading washing machine for your sole use. There is a clothes horse supplied, or feel free to use the outside clothesline as well. If you need, there is a clothes dryer available on request. The apartment has its own private entrance, from your very own deck complete with outdoor table and chairs (and a sprinkling of herbs growing there too you may notice), THE perfect place to sit and unwind at the end of the day or make plans for the day ahead. Deck/entrance is adjacent to your parking bay. From the deck you have sweeping views over the property and adjacent vineyard. You are welcome to wander the grounds, or use the BBQ and outdoor area. We have numerous fruit trees growing, including: apples, pears, apricots, mulberries and plums. Over time we will establish our ‘edible garden’ and you will be most welcome to sample our produce as available. Amble’a’While offers you a secure and very private space to relax. The apartment is fully self-contained. You are free to explore the grounds, use the BBQ and relax under a tree or sit on one of the many outdoor seats around the grounds. Obviously our home is private as are the many out buildings. Amble’a’While is a private space and our desire is to leave guests to enjoy the experience without our intervention. That said we are more than happy to offer suggestions from our local experience. We would be very glad to help you in any way we can to make your stay with us and in Tasmania an enjoyable one. The kitchenette is well appointed and ready for you to enjoy the supplied breakfast items, and make simple tasty and nutritious meals if you so choose. If there are any specific pantry items you would like us to have on hand for you just ask and we will do our best to oblige, either from our own pantry or sourced locally for you (nominal additional charges may apply). Amble'a'While on Tamar is located on the banks of the Tamar River with stunning waterfront views. Wander 2.5km along Rosevears Drive to the historic Rosevears Hotel for a quiet drink, quick bite to eat or a delicious meal accompanied by local wines. Explore the Tamar Valley Wine Route with over 30 cellar doors right on our doorstep (voted “One of the Top 10 Wine Routes in the world” by Essential Travel magazine UK). Taste your way through the Cradle to Coast Tasting Trail. Take a leisurely drive to Bridestowe Lavender Estate just an hour from us. An easy 25 minute drive north will take you through Beaconsfield (visit the mine and heritage centre), then 5 minutes further on to the aptly named Beauty Point with some lovely local eateries along with Platypus House and Seahorse World for the nature lovers. Head on over and visit the historic Lighthouse and Foghorn at Lowhead and/or book in for a Penguin Tour where you’ll get up close and personal with these cute little creatures. Pop into town (Launceston) and visit the local cafés, craft beer or whiskey bars. Do it on a Saturday morning and visit Harvest Market Launceston (delicious. Outstanding Farmers Market 2017) and sample the local produce. There is so much to do near Amble’a’While on Tamar, feel free to ask us any questions or for recommendations of things to see and do near us. Guests will need a vehicle to get around our area. Amble’a’While is equipped with an OziKleen system that deals with our waste water and sewage to recycle it back in to the garden. We must stress when using the toilet, shower or sink please do not flush any solid matter, sanitary products, wipes, chemicals or such like into the system as it will clog the filtration equipment. We supply any necessary cleaning products along with hand soaps etc and ask that you use these please. A small info plaque is in place in the toilet to restate this information.
