Nestled amidst this abundant natural sanctuary, is our lovely cottage. Fantastic fishing, collect mussels, paua & opihi from the beach. Stroll endless beaches, let your soul rest. Nestled amidst this abundant natural sanctuary, is our lovely cottage. This charming holiday house is perfect for just a couple or for the whole family, with the most fantastic views over the entire Whanganui Inlet. The Cottage is spacious and modern with one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. There is also a double pull out couch for the kids. Feel at home in the large comfortable lounge with the fire place to keep you cozy. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, fridge and microwave, should you wish to cook. However we also have a reputation for delicious food and would be happy to spoil you with a special 3 course dinner $84 per person Recharge your batteries in beautiful surroundings and stroll along on the endless secluded beaches. The Estuary is a protected reserve and home to many birds and other rare wildlife. We have many visitors here, ranging from seals and dolphins to the very naughty kea. There are many wonderful tracks for you to explore. We will be nearby if guest need any help, as the cottage is located below our Lodge (Westhaven Retreat). For contactless assistance phone numbers are provided. As the cottage is in a remote location, there is no public transportation nearby. You will need to rent a car or use your own car, preferable 4 WD. Westhaven Cottage is located 3.5 hours from Nelson. The last 50 minutes of the road to the Cottage is a gravel road, which winds around the Whanganui Inlet. We will send driving directions for assistance.
