My neighborhood is unique in that it is a blend of older and newer architect-inspired housing. Being so close to the city centre, it is one of the earliest areas to be populated in the city. The residents enjoy socializing at the local bars and restaurants. Populated by a broad spectrum of people of all ages and backgrounds. The metro bus stop on the road outside my house. Or you could take a 20-30 minute walk to the city centre and travel agents. Catch a bus or shuttle bus to the airport and railway station. Taxi service quick and reliable. Travel information available for you to view. There are a lot of interesting things to see and do both in the city and in the environs. Akaroa, on Banks peninsula, makes an excellent day trip to see the French settlement and the interesting, volcanic geology of our city and its surrounds. There is still much to see showing the impact of the big 2011/2012 earthquakes. Also if there's time, a trip to the mountains - either Arthur's Pass or Hanmer is well worth it with beautiful scenery and hot springs.
