With a large Government grant being secured by the local mountain bike club, with many more tracks to be built over the coming year/s. Water Sports Talbingo is the centre of immense waterways. Talbingo, Blowering and Jounama Lakes offer 6,500 hectares of recreational waterways. The waterways offer fishing, water skiing, sailing, kayaking, SUP and swimming in the warmer months. Yarrangobilly Limestone Caves Approx. 30 minutes’ drive from Talbingo, offering self-guided and guided tours of limestone caves, bush walking and swimming in a naturally heated thermal pool. Snow Skiing Mount Selwyn approx. 45 minutes’ drive from Talbingo, is an ideal spot for learners and families where skiing is at its most affordable. Mt Selwyn caters for up to 2,000 people per day, and offers food and retail outlet, equipment and clothing hire and ski school. Walking, cycling or vehicle is the best way to get around Talbingo and surrounding areas. Talbingo has a general store which stocks your basic needs for newspapers, food, refreshments, alcohol and take away food. Tumut (40 kilometres from Talbingo) is the closest major centre which offers larger supermarkets such as Coles and Woolworths, bakerys, chemists, butchers, bottle shops etc, hospital and medical centre.
