Romantic cottage Les Glycines, Loire Valley

Garden apartment of a fully renovated XIVth century small manor, located next to the luxurious Chateau Hotel de La Barre, in the midst of a 100 acre private park. Perfect for a romantic holiday, away from the crowds but near the famous Loire Valley. Les Glycines is the garden flat of a XIVth to XIXth c small manor, located next to the magnificent Château de la Barre, a luxurious chateau hotel in the middle of a 100 acre private park, which guests staying in Les Glycines cottage apartment also enjoy. Totally renovated in 2009, this chic cottage apartment is decorated with charm, and is ideal for 2 guests, with its' own access. It comprises a large living room/bedroom with a massive stone fireplace, a sitting area and a king size bed, an en suite Italian shower and large bathtub, a separate WC and a separate fully fitted kitchen with small dining area, opening, via a French door, onto a little garden area for dining al fresco. The guests of the cottage have a small private garden, and especially, have full access to the 100 acre park, and the flower garden with benches and a fountain, lovely for evening walks and picnics. The guests may also use the ping pong table and both bicycles. The owners (who speak English fluently) live on site, in the chateau, where they welcome the Chateau hotel guests, and also warmly greet the guests renting the cottage, with a welcome bottle of cider from the chateau orchard, and, upon prior request, a small basket of shopping for the immediate arrival, as well as a list of nearby shops, markets, and all the sights and activities of the region with a detailed map. The region is totally bucolic, quiet, away from the tourist crowds of the Loire, France the way it used to be, with quaint villages, picturesque country roads, green fields and friendly locals. The next little towns, a couple of miles away, have all sorts of stores, markets, a supermarket, a swimming pool, tennis courts, riding stables and a bit further, golf courts and kayaking on the river. The famous Loire Valley castles are easily reached in a days excursion, 1 hour drive away It is important to have a car on site (the cottage has its' own private parking for our guests). However, the fast speed TGV train goes from Paris city to Vendome in 43 min and it is easy to rent a car in Vendome, 30 min drive from the Chateau. Alternatively, there is also a fast speed TGV train, 1h30 min from Charles de Gaulle airport to Le Mans, a 43 min drive from the Cottage, and where there are 4 major rental car agencies. The price includes sheets and towels, beds made and tax. There is however an additional 45 euros cleaning fee. The famous Loire Valley castles, the magnificently restored medieval Plantagenet City of Le Mans, with its' magical sound and light shows in the summer months, vineyards, farmers' markets, Romanesque chapels in quaint villages, forests, zoos, a week is hardly enough to discover the riches of this region, whilest residing in an exclusive, quiet environment, away from heavy crowds.
