Les Châtaignes - a rural gîte with pool

Les Châtaignes forms part of an old farmhouse with access to a large shared outdoor swimming pool (open from May to October, weather permitting) and garden area offering panoramic views across the valleys of the Tarn and Aveyron. It is a spacious holiday cottage with a partially covered courtyard which includes a charcoal barbecue and outside dining area. Adjacent to this is a small utility room which houses the washing machine and dishwasher. The main entrance via the courtyard takes you into the large fully equipped kitchen/dining area, with beamed ceiling. The dining area leads through to a very comfortable beamed sitting-room. The wooden staircase leads from the kitchen to the first floor, which consists of a light, large double bedroom, a spacious shower-room with washbasin and WC, and a separate bathroom (with shower over) which also has washbasin and WC. On the second floor off the stairs, there are two further bedrooms, a mezzanine-style twin room which has a curtain for privacy, and a doorway into the second large double. Guests share access to the pool and garden with our second gite next door (sleeps 4) and there is a selection of garden furniture and games for your enjoyment. We are on hand to offer advice and help whenever needed. Situated in a small rural hamlet 7 kilometres from our nearest main village, Mirandol Bourgnounac, which provides all the essential amenities including bar, restaurant, butchers, bakers, pharmacy, groceries, bank, doctor, fuel garage and EV charging point. We are so fortunate to be situated in an area of great natural beauty and have a variety of walking and cycling routes on our doorstep. There is no public transport outside of Mirandol B, so your own transport is essential. We live on site in an old converted farmhouse with our dog Mossy, but she generally is not in the garden unaccompanied. Les Châtaignes can also be rented out with its neighbouring gîte, La Grange, to accommodate up to 10 people offering private use of the swimming pool (10 x 5 metres).
