The Windmill Villa
The windmillvilla is a traditional Rhodian farm house.
The windmillvilla is a traditional Rhodian farm house called by the locals "tower". It was built around 1850 and restored in 1950. The agricultural field of the house is about 2 acves with 38 roots of olive trees and some sour trees around. The watering of the field was done with the windmill pumping water from the well filling sterna that is now turned into a swimming pool. The lay out of the house is typical Rhodian house style with a central space considering all rooms around it. The everyday life used to include cooking with an outdoor traditional oven washing the clothes in a build basin using water from the well. The internal decoration is based on Rhodian style with plates around the walls and old jars around for storing oil, wine, honey e.t.c. Dimitris and Marilly Billis are the owners of their family house. The windmill villa can accommodate families and groups with up to 7 people, in three comfortable bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed, the second bedroom has twin beds and the third bedroom located in the loft can accommodate three people in single beds. All bedrooms have air-conditioning, closets and windows with views of the surrounding area. The house has a comfortable living room beautifully decorated in Greek traditional style with a sitting area and a flat screen TV.
