The Chapel Tiny House
The Chapel at Harewood Farm is a bespoke-built tiny house in a secluded meadow in a curve on the river Tamar in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. An ideal peaceful retreat for one/two people. A double bed folds away into the wall which allows a writing desk to unfold. A small wood burner keeps the place cosy inside. Sit out on the porch by the outdoor fire in the evening. A place of privacy and seclusion. While away the hours to the gentle sounds of the wildlife in the undisturbed meadow. This is an off grid experience. We supply a battery so you can charge your phone whilst you stay. All lighting is battery powered. We have an indoor-outdoor shower with hot water. And your own private compost loo with a view. There's a wooden outdoor yoga deck nearby. You can be totally self sufficient at the chapel, a gas burner is supplied on the porch so you can cook here or utilise a BBQ/Fire. Firewood for the Chapel wood burner is Free. The Pod is available to hire in addition, to accommodate a third person. See photos and ask us for special rates. You may also make use of our Field kitchen barn (a separate building from the Chapel), to cook or use the lounge space, a charge is made for logs used in the Field Kitchen's wood burner. We usually have our own organic grown produce available for sale. Order fresh sourdough bread, our own hens eggs or an arrival meal from us in advance. The meadow is only accessible by 4x4 vehicle. You may park in our yard and we will take you to the Chapel in our vehicle. We ask our guests to park in our farm yard and take a 10 minute walk to the Chapel. Its a pleasant scenic walk along a track to the meadow. We will transport your luggage down by 4 x 4 vehicle and collect it all at the end of your stay and return it to your vehicle. You won't need to carry anything. There is no need to bring any sleeping, cooking or camping equipment, everything you need other than your food is available here. Someone will always be around on hand to help with all of your needs during your stay. Harewood Farm is a special hideaway location- It is within an ANOB, SSSI, SAC site and World Heritage Area- we told you it was special! It is peaceful and secluded, a true get away. The village of Calstock is close by with it's pubs, cafe and ice cream shop. There are great walks and things to see while you're here. We're happy to give you tips for what to do and there's a OS map to find your way around We are close by to Calstock train station which is on a direct line from Plymouth. The farm is 15 mins walk from the station. If you're coming from London and want to be low carbon there are trains from Paddington with the final leg being perhaps one of the most picturesque train journeys ever. We can pick you up from the station on request. We will send out specific directions to find us before your arrival, either on foot or by car. The Chapel is an ideal for those seeking an 'off grid' experience. It's simple living close to nature. Please be sure to bring good footwear and suitable clothing to enjoy your stay. We try to foresee what you might need and we're always happy to answer questions before and after you book with us. We are pet friendly and well behaved dogs are welcome although the Chapel accommodation is compact so seek advice before you book in with your dog. We make a charge of £15 per dog per visit. Please bring your pet's bed.
