Cosy 2 bed country cottage Torver
The Old Stable and Old Dairy cottages are closed for a few weeks from mid November to update facilities with new carpets, kitchen fittings decorating and bathrooms etc. The Old stable cottage is converted from an old bank barn with beams and thick stone walls. All modern amenities are provided to complement the views across fields only 2 miles the village of Coniston and an easy walk distance to the local pub. The Old Stable Cottage is a 2 bedroom property consisting of a large double bedroom and a second bedroom with twin beds. A fully fitted kitchen/lounge/dining area gives guests the space to relax and unwind before sitting down to a meal in the evening. A 32in LED TV and a DVD player, with a selection of DVD's and books are provided. The property is heated by central heating, with an electric 'log stove' to give atmosphere. Free Wi-Fi is provided. The property is set 200yds from the road along a private driveway, with parking for 2 cars, and a shared outside garden area with furniture. A barbecue is provided as well for those who wish to cook outdoors.! Plenty of walks from the door, only half a mile from the local pub and a walk up the 'Old Man' is possible without having to go on the road. We try wherever possible to greet guests upon arrival, but then leave them to enjoy the peace and relax as if it was their own home. We also live nearby, so are usually on hand should they require assistance with suggestions for walks etc. The cottage is set in a quiet rural location, yet only 2 miles from shops, Post Office and petrol station in Coniston. Ambleside and lake Windermere are only 9 miles away, with a huge variety of outdoor clothing shops and cafes. There is a regular bus service from Coniston to Ulverston, and in the summer season, there are buses between villages in the south lakes area. Arrival changeover days are Friday and Monday unless arranged otherwise. There is a minimum stay of 2 nights.
