Holly Cottage is a charming, grade two listed cottage with lots of character and a cosy feel. It is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the village of Iden, East Sussex. The Bell pub and village store are a short walk away and are loved by locals. Rye Station and historic town with great shops/restaurants is a 7 minute drive, while Rye Harbour/Nature reserve or Camber Sands beach is a 15 minute drive. The wonderful Tillingham Winery/Vineyard is only an 8 minute drive away. The cottage is listed by Historic England and dates from the early eighteenth century. In the dining room there is a big open fireplace with a log burner and exposed beams. The bedroom and private bathroom are typical Cottage style. The bedroom overlooks the garden and is surrounded by a range of trees, shrubs and flowers. The adjacent fields have an abundance of rabbits and sheep. The cottage is full of character, complete with some low doorways. As well as a private bedroom and bathroom, guests can use the dining room where you can help yourself to a breakfast of cereal, toast, jams and juice. We make our own bread which we offer for breakfast. We also love to use produce from local farms where available. Garden is accessible although mainly used for family. Private parking on our drive is possible. Iden is a lovely, English village with a popular pub, the 'Iden Bell', which also serves food. Next to the pub there is a great general store which also sells local produce. Iden has a beautiful church and the area is surrounded by stunning countryside.
