Cosy Hikers Home with a Parking Space
This building is an old mill workers house situated down a quiet mews with a dedicated parking space right outside the front door. Its within a few minutes drive from the Peak District with its many hikes and views and a 10 minute walk into the centre of Macclesfield and the station. The house has been simply renovated recently with a retro twist and furnished with a number of pieces bought at the monthly Macclesfield Treacle Market. Although small it has a cosy feel and is tucked away down a quiet street with no passing traffic. The house has two bedrooms but the smaller second bedroom is locked shut. You have access to the rest of the house including a small little courtyard garden at the back which has table, chairs and a parasol. Its unlikely I will be able to greet you personally but please feel free to phone me with any queries or questions. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful and the mews is particularly quiet having hardly any passing traffic. There is a canal round the corner with a pub ( The Puss in Boots) and garden next to it. You can walk along this canal to reservoirs and The Leather Smithy pub. Once a month Macclesfield holds The Treacle Market ( last weekend of the month) which has hundreds of stalls selling local food produce, local crafts and vintage items. Some of the pictures and furniture pieces in the property are from this market. Its a great local event where you can shop or just kick back with a drink and listen to the live music in the main market square. A few minutes drive from the house you are in the hills of the Peak District with its many walks and amazing views. In the property you'll find a number of hiking books and as well as information leaflets of the walking areas. Don't forget your hiking boots ! Macclesfield station is a 10 minute walk down the hill ( and uphill on the way back !) If you are staying to see the Peak District then I recommend a car to get you there and around. There is a car hire company ( Enterprise) within walking distance of the station near the big Tesco supermarket. Sorry but no pets are allowed on the premises. The place isn't suitable for children under 8 years old due to the open plan stairs being a hazard.
